Report a translation problem
It depends on the puzzle. Those with red scarabs near the door can only be attempted 3 times. These include the triangle puzzle, the memory puzzle, and the six-glyph shooter. All other puzzle types are unlimited; you can shoot at them for as long as you want.
You don't have to restart the game. From the Campaign menu, select "Restart Checkpoint". You'll be sent back a short distance to the last checkpoint area on the current map.
Manual Save Points before a puzzle and make the manual save button hidden too.
