DLC the split screen if you must. Fact is, I’d depart with an extra 50 pounds if I could 4 player this locally. Simply put, online games have no magic for me, so haven't purchased this, just painstakingly following it in hopes it becomes couch friendly for us hipsters in the future. To smoke a joint and play this without the need for 4 separate rigs would be grand.
The audience looking for split screen coop games is big. and doesn't interfere with the online players market. group of friends will buy their owncopies regardless if there's split screen or not. and players looking for the couch splitscreen will never ever buy multiple copies anyway.
Just look at games like Overcooked, Rocket League, LEGO games, Gangbeasts. They are successful because primarily theres an splitscreen along with online play
