Alt + Tab breaks the game.

I noticed when I go back to the desktop I can't go back to the game again. I see the game but clicking on anything kicks me back to the desktop. It's a small bug but it can be annoying when suddenly your antivirus wants to say that it just updated the database. Anybody else experienced similar issue? Is there a remedy for that problem?

No issue here whatsoever.
Can You provide tech spec and sys spec?
What antivirus are you using? I always disable antyvirus for games...there is no point for them to scan when your are just playing doing photoshop or anything like that - keep it off when not needed.

I would try to figure out antyvirus and display drivers for this issue.

This has nothing to do with anti-virus, or drivers. It's somehow Windows is losing focus of the game, and only allows it to run in the background. I'll try and see if Sunny's solution works, but if Rebellion were to add in the graphics options "windowed, fullscreen, windowed fullscreen" etc that'd help (right now it's just resolution) and potentially be a workaround solution

And also, if you need to navigate the options menu without the mouse, page up and down allow you to switch tabs

Had to alt-tab out of the game and yeah - there's no way back into the game afterwards... alt-tabbing back to it, or clicking the taskbar button, just produces a black screen for a few seconds, then dumps me back on the desktop.

The only way to get back in the game is to right-click the taskbar button and kill the game, then restart it. And that's not really a work-around :-(

Three most crucial things:
In the settings found on the initial splash screen window, turn off DX12 (cryptically called 'D3D12').
Run in "Borderless" windowed mode (selectable in-game, video settings).
In the in-game options, under "privacy settings" at the bottom, turn off the sending of information to Rebellion (causes occasional infrequent crashes).

I have this issue as well. It also is now starting up in a fuzzy bad graphics mode and as soon as I click anywhere it fixes that and looks great. Alt tab, once out, I can't get it back in and have to taskman kill.

at start check your graphics (in that smaller menu) , that you have it "windowed" then the problem is gone. I have got the same problem before , now it works

Just happened to me. I held Alt + Enter a bit then clicked on the game icon and it brought me back into the game. Can't say if it will work for everyone but worth a try.

If you didn't choose a native display resolution in game for reducing performance issue, windows won't let this game back. Just try a native resolution, then reduce rendering scale.
