Can't get PS4 controller to work

Am I missing something? My PS4 Controller does not work in this game. Please help

Just tested it and it works. I had to do it through Big Picture Mode (BPM) as it's the only place I use the controller. Here is how to get it to work.

1) At the BPM main screen go to options (cog wheel on top right) >> controller >> controller settings >> PS4 configuration support (check this)

2) Before starting the game select: Manage Game >> Controller Configuration >> Browse Configs >> select the "Official Configuration for Sniper Elite 4" >> apply configuration >> Done.

Start your game and the PS4 controller should work. One issue that has arisen for me is that whenever I try to adjust anything controller related, it's no longer recognized in-game and have to restart after applying setting. Once re-started the options do work but for some reason it disconnects in-game for me. This may not be an issue for you but you should at least know it exists (on both my PS4 and XB1 controllers).

it's not that simple - I also got Sniper Elite 4 for PC because I had it on PS4 at the time.
I still have a PS4 controller and wanted to play the game on the PC with this controller, but no PS4 button is displayed despite the settings....only these damn XBox buttons

Funny thing is, when I used a PS3 controller wired to my PC, the game would even show PS button icons! I don't recall my Steam Input settings and need to reproduce this (it was like 2020 or so), but I expected the game to show me PS icons with my new DualSense now... still I only see Xbox button prompts.
