Game DOES NOT LOAD when using DX12.

I just upgraded drivers and decided to try DX12. The game does not load at all. I get an error message that says "DX12 has stopped working" before I can even get to the title page. Anyone else have this problem?

This is what worked for me. I had the Exact same issue. Find the Games launch file in the steam folder. "Steam\steamapps\common\Sniper Elite 4\bin" there will be 2 files. a dx11 and a dx12. Right click the dx12 file and click properties. Then click compatibility tab. Make sure you check "run as administrator" then save and close. Launch the game with steam and before clicking start game click options. Then Click the "Set to Default" at bottom. Then reset all your graphics options. Then start the game. It works flawless for me now.

Thanks for the reply, but I just tried that and it still doesn't work. After making the changes you mentioned, I click "start game" from the launch menu, I get a pop up window that asks if I want to allow to run the program, I click yes, then it just brings me back to the launch window each time instead of launching the game.

Are you in the windows insider program? I have this bug on my insider pc with the latest fast ring preview, had to revert to latest public build on my other pc to get the game to play in dx12

Nope, and I expect that when all other top titles work, this one should, too. I dont spent my very limited sparetime to bugfix other ppls bad code, thus got my refund and won't touch this game anymore. A quick look with a debugger showed that it crashed on a unhandled Win32 exception, thats an issue on their side as they do not catch the exception and handle it in a helpful way.
