Zoom upgrade disappeared

I decided to start playing SE4 as I haven't really played since launch and wanted to see/use the DLC weapons. I upgraded the zoom on the De Lisle carbine to 8x, a few minutes later reloaded due to somehow missing a 6m shoulder-aimed headshot and my zoom has disappeared (I only have 2x and 4x no 8x). I am playing on Hard as I didn't want to jump into Authentic straight away after not having played for so long, so it's not the Authentic restrictions affecting it.

I can't load an earlier save as the auto-saves and my manual save are after I upgraded the zoom. Strange thing is, the 8x zoom is available in the shooting range just not in the campaign. Is there a fix for this?

Good for you but I enjoy using it. Makes a change from the fully upgraded Mosin-Nagant.

the issue is it has bad on distance and scope looking, that's how its made, so use a better rifle if you need range, use the silent rifles pack and use silenced rounds.
the De Lisle was made in the real world as a 1 or 2 shot use rifle , so range was not a factor.

I realise it has pretty low muzzle velocity (and am also aware of the real world history of it), but the issue I was having was the 8x scope upgrade (which is decent enough) disappeared even though it showed it as unlocked (got a 298m Eye Shot with it earlier).

I went and re-did San Celini to fully upgrade the FNAB-43 and still didn't have the 8x zoom but it fixed itself after I started Bitanti Village today.

have you ever figured this out? I've just encountered this issue, had x8 and after reload im back to x4 only :/
