Keyboard commands...

Hi... Just bought this game today (I know, late to the party...) after doing SE3 to death. I just got into the first mission on San Celini Island. Right at the beginning I'm asked to use binoculars and tag a guard and a pulley using the ? key. This does nothing...
I've tried every regular key, tried remapping that command to a different key and to a mouse button with no luck. caps lock is off.... My keyboard and mouse are working fine....
I can't tag the objectives, and so I can't continue the game...
Any ideas...?

yeah...theres sometimes 2 gaurds you have to mark them and the pulley. zoom in you'll prolly just see the top of his helmet. B then Left mouse ( shoot ) to mark

Something odd going on with the keyboard mapping - There was no default shoot button set so I set that to Mouse 1 and restarted. Once I'm through the cinematics and the story set-up I try to use the keyboard WASD to move... the moment I touch one of the keys, the screen closes and I'm looking at my desktop screen...
Tried resetting to default mapping, no dice.
Restart...

I had the same difficulty getting mapped keys to bind at this part. Took some time to muddle through, but eventually bullied it through.

Nar done wrong above , set keyboard back to defaults

The first step in the game San Celini Islan is a small Tutorial ,
Follow on screen instrutions
1- climb wall using the wood on it then when prompted via On -Screen Tutorial , kill the dude with Melle kill Key board [ E ]
2 - Then you are prompted to use Binoculars , tag crane hoist coupling and 1 or 2 soldiers under the cannon which is on the wood pallet , the it prompys you to open the [ Q ] key / Radial on screen weapon choice , pick rifle at the top , hit [ Q ] key again / closes Radial menu , then shoot the now RED tagged crane hoist coupling , then your done.

Like Shadow was trying to say: the game has a tutorial which must be done to unlock many key assignments. The first 5-10min. of the first campaign mission. But yes, left mouse does it, no keyboard shortcuts need to be assigned, no mouse setup necessary (if you had one the first time you started the game, and never used a game controller such as xbox/PS).

I went AFK for a while, came back and restarted Steam and the game... It's like nothing was ever wrong, works perfectly...
Right then, time to despatch some fascists.
