The game won't start?

I click start then the the "menu" screen comes up so I click on play an it just shuts down and back to steam. Any Ideas?

I have windows 10 and its working fine Im not shure what your isuse is. Try to verifie your files if ya dont know how ill put it up.

Go to Libeary click on sniper elight 4 then click on the cog its called manage its on the far right. Then Propaties Local files then click on Verifie files and if thers any erros it will fix it.

Three most crucial things:
In the settings found on the initial splash screen window, turn off DX12 (cryptically called 'D3D12').
Run in "Borderless" windowed mode (selectable in-game, video settings).
In the in-game options, under "privacy settings" at the bottom, turn off the sending of information to Rebellion (causes occasional infrequent crashes).

I have already verified it, and it came out just fine.

@Stiga I looked into all that. Nothing changed. The DX12 was turned off with the default settings. The rest I just can'e get into the In-Game to check the others.

I only get to the Splash Screen.

How long have you played the game , have you had an update of GPU drivers.

Are you on Windows 10 , try this if you have a desktop short cut for the exe file , delete it , them go to this directory .
C:\ Program files (86) \ Steam \ Steam Apps \ Common \ Sniper Elite 4 \ Bin , open the bin folder there you see SniperElite4_DX11 < right click on this game exe. and chose option send to \ create desk top short cut .
Then try starting the game from that desktop short cut , splash screen should open , click Play , but remember to do these as well

BTW I use the windowed mode it`s better using the - top right of window to reduce the game to the task bar , better than Alt Tab

When I try to use that, I get

SniperElite4_DX11.exe - System Error
The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.dll was not found.
