VAC and Single player

Hey guys! listen, i like to mess around in single player with trainers sometimes, mostly because i find it fun to generally mess around. Anyway, my main question is as follows

would i get VAC banned for using trainers, in single player mode? im curious, because i dont really want to get banned. (Australian internet BTW, trust me, i cant do multiplayer even if i wanted to)

Search sniper elete in the vac forum, you will see it dose have it running , becouse people have done what you want to do and have got pinged, now others on here will go look at the steam vac listing and say there’s no vac running, but as I said search vac and sniper on here and in the vac forum on steam , it will show you who is correct.
I personally would not do it if you value your steam profile, as once given , they are permanent.
And as you game , some servers will not let vac or game banned players on there servers, no matter what the game you got it on.

Easy enough. so not even launching using the -insecure launch command would help? i do value my account.

What if they disconnected their Internet, and ran Steam in "offline" mode, I would think they could do it undetected?

Read between the lines: they can't say that it shouldn't because that might give them perceived responsibility. But same goes for me.

Ask yourself WubWubPwny, is it worth the risk, given the possible consequences? I think the fact that you haven't(?) already speaks to that.

Yeah that's exactly it: in offline single-player you only cheat yourself (you lose the proper "challenge" needed) when cheating, so it's not a community issue, as it doesn't affect other players - a.k.a. who cares!
But otherwise I agree with you 100% I hate cheaters! Also I would like to hear your personal opinion about those Russian groups playing competitive MP (not on your server): are they cheating? I think you know who I am talking about, but I actually haven't checked competitive for 4-5mos. But I understand you may not be able to comment on that here in the public forum. Cheaters ruin the (multi-player) games for all who don't cheat.

ok why do any game maker need to post if it has vac in its game, i think it’s good it catches ppl who want to cheat on mp and sp , my self, no game should feel the need to post that they have vac just to stop ppl hacking or not, i hope the next se un named do the same, to remove turds trying the to not work the levels and work the levels with out thinking they are better , vac should be a thing losers find out when they get a ban in my book ,just my opinion

I can't comment on what happens in single player mode, but as the author of the tool used on many servers to manage bans I can explain how its done for multi-player servers.

The admin tool can be configured to block access based either on a VAC ban or a game ban being present on your steam account. Information on WHY you may have got those bans is not visible, or even for what game(s) you may have earned a ban. Presence of a ban will get you blocked automatically. Changing your privacy settings will not help, the bans are always visible.

Most servers are set up to to block for VAC bans, but not game bans. A VAC ban is assumed to mean you were caught using a cheating or training tool and hence an unfair advantage over other players. A game ban is more generally assumed to be for bad behaviour and so less severe - you are given the opportunity to learn from the mistake and behave in the future.

Configuration and ground rules are down to the owner of the server. If you join a server, read the rules. Most server administrators just want to play the game with as little overhead as possible, play fair, act nice and you'll get along just fine. Argue, cheat or cause trouble and you'll be gone with no right of appeal.

and no dev will ever reply becouse they don’t need to, no one who makes games need to by compulsion needs to update the steam page, and no one cares if ppl get vac becouse they cheat, most players on map love that cheaters get pinged for hacking that way the servers boot them if they try to join, let me say it in a way most players agree, play the game normal , work the levels normal, get good normal, if you need to cheat to be better then you deserve what you get, life is about working at things , not clicking a button to be a god at level 1 , you lose in this game if you think it’s normal , it’s a small community on map and we all see the cheaters, rock your ban, and those who think that need to realise, ppl love this game and can see that if you run cheats you don’t get on there hosted servers , that’s it. Rebellion never need to apologise if there game is not listed on steams store page as vac secured, and no game makers should in in my opinion

I strongly suggest you to don't take this risk, because the game is protected by VAC and using third-party software like: Cheat Engine, Trainers, Hacks, Cheats - can trigger VACBan on your account, just like everything what can offer to you unfair advantage.
