base game has around 8 missons which are diffrent open world maps where u can do side quests or just go for main objective or objectives. and each map is set out very diffrent, satisfiyngly big and full
you can do that if theres no enemies around you to hear your shots. which seems to be around 150- 200 meters or yo u can buy ghost recon wildlands. it's basicly a far cry game hidden under ghost recon brand. a better sniping game then sniper ghost warrior 3 imo. has no wind tho
Maps have to be learned the sniping spots are there , i feel a vid coming on
It really depends on how you attack the map, 98% of players that make YouTube vids use "run & gun" tactics and don't really play the stealth aspect of the game, that is done excellently. They seem to be more interested in saying "look at me, I am like Rambo" rather than "look how smart I am."
And if you think that's all covert snipers abroad do, watch some real sniper movies. They also have to deal with the situation when things don't go exactly as planned, which is most of the time IRL. I also love to set mines and traps for the enemy and hear them go off and see the resulting death toll as I loot their bodies afterward.
When you get done with the campaign, and the DLCs, please try multiplayer co-op survival ("sv") mode (1-4vs. waves of AI), jump in someone else's game and try it. It's super fun when on the right difficulty level for you and when you get a good team. The maps are same as the campaign maps but more limited area within each. Don't fully destroy all the armoured vehicles to allow your team time to loot bodies & set traps between the 12 waves per game (exc. Marina & Urban). Allow 45-90min. for a full game (no saves). It is OK if you leave before all 12 waves tho, just plz warn your buddies previous.
I now have a few players who have thanked me for enlightening them about this mode.
I have taken fire through solid cliff faces and brick walls...the AI CAN see you through walls as indeed it could in SE 1,2 and 3 its been an issue since the very beginning, as for always being able to snipe, the 2nd mission dumps you inside a town with all the narrow twisty streets you would expect..but the most damning thing that show this isn`t even close to a sniper game are the rewards for going postal with an SMG the game actively pushes you to run and gun.
Btw, you will find that most MP servers have a "No Sprinting" rule.
Sniper Elite is a fun shooter though, but gameplay has little to do with 'real snipers'.
