How much of a downgrade is Sniper Elite 3 compared to this game?

I really like this game and I'd like to continue my adventure in Sniper Elite 3.

But I'm wondering just how dated the game's mechanics will feel compared to SE4!

I read somewhere you can't change 3rd person shoulder side in SE 3. Is this true? That could potentially be gamebreaking for me.

Anything else I should know about?

sniper elite games are all diffrerent from each other.
1 is too old imo.

but 2 is different from 3 which is different from 4.
they are all fun and it's like you getting "another" game.

you can play 2 which the shooting in it will feel more fast and action like, also you have sticky cover system and the game is great - dont think it's old and not playing it because of it.
if now a new sniping game was out without the name sniper elite 2 you wouldnt think twice of playing it cause it is still amazing game even now.

sniper elite 3, also different from 2 and 4 and you will feel it's like another sniper game and it's fun; cant remember about the shoulder aim but when you have a top notch sniping game and you like to snipe you wont let that prevent you from playing.

believe me you have those 2 game that are like brand new sniping games for you.
and ofc, you have Zombie Army Trilogy which came out after SE3 and is an amazing game.

SE3 is a great game but some on Windows 10 had real trouble with it , SE3 was out before Win 10 , for me the game has good graphics as well but the on-screen character Karl is to Big or the FOV is wrong , seems like the character is sort of to near you when playing , here are comparisons of the view, the controls sensitivity is a bit ackward and in some senarios the character Karl or his weapons block out the enemy ? say when crouching but over all another great game from Rebellion , good fun to got back to now and then , the cross hair on the machinegun and pistol are a bit big and look silly now compared to SE4. SE2 For me is another great game and a lot more Authentic looking , i think the MP is still well supported

Wow, you guys are great. Thanks for the screenshot comparisons Shadow, really helps a lot. I actually played Sniper Elite 2 already and it's awesome!!! I was just asking about SE3 because it's on sale for 13 dolla (dlc and all!!). I'm just concerned that since SE4's mechanics feel so polished, that SE3 will bum me out!! But I guess as Demon says all the 3 games are different.

For 13 dollars i would give SE3 a try but be warned about win 10 , i think your right about SE4 being polished and yes i think SE2 was / is ok

Hmmm true...... I do have windows 10 but if the game doesn't work I think I can just return it.

i really do think that SE3's multikills are far better than SE4.
SE4 is more polished in every way but this.

when you multi kill in SE4 it's little underwhelming from some reason i can't point.

but the bullet cam doesnt look that awesome.
often when i multi in survival, it wont give me a feel that something special just happened.
se3 does give you that.

The other big difference would that the rifles have a fixed zero in SE3 (personally I preferred this).

IMO not much of a difference, loved the desert warfare in 3, just a little more cramped in spaces (a little more linear too), and NO CRASHES! And the noises worked better.
