Stealth element is broken

It doesn't matter if you silently takedown one enemy. The whole area is alerted to your presence. It's impossible to remain undetected without the mini map going yellow or a line question marks wants to investigate your last know position. It's just impossible.

What I'm wish is. Whenever IF Sniper Elite 5 does come out. It would nice if it had Splinter Cell or Hitman type stealth in the game. Where you could remain undetected without the enemies or anybody else knowning you were there. Most of your engagement in this game isn't aways for a far..but up close. So when you're inside a building and want to takeout enemies without yellow dots appearing on your mini map, every time you killed someone. Then I thing stealth element needs to be fix. The only thing they got right for this game is the ability to climb,shimmy or jump off/on ledge. The only thing they don't have right, is the ability to remained undetected.

if you do a stealth attack you remain undetected.
also you can use silent ammo to kill an enemy that is pretty close to his buddy and his buddy still wont tell you killed someone standing or walking besides him.

Did the whole campain on Authentic plus and DLC never got detected once. Just need to take your time and plan ahead for what you are going to do.

some players play it without even making the enemies suspicious; they dont even throw rock's
to change the direction of enemeis or trigger their yellow suspecting mode.
meaning you can do the stealth really hardcore.

what you described above, killing somone and all enemeis know?
that is simply not true.

I'll second that. In Sniper Elite V2, I took turns with a friend in completing a certain map in the best time, while still completing all objectives, but without firing a shot, throwing a stone, killing anyone, blowing anything up, or alerting any enemy.
Hardcore stealth IS possible, it just takes time & a lot of patience..........something that all true snipers need a s h i tload of!

Stealth is not broken, you just kill enemies when other enemies are nearby or facing the direction in which you kill a guy ( ofc you'll make em on suspicious). However, stealth is working for me on sniper elite difficulty extremely well. On A or A + I think it's not easy to be stealthy.

I had a blast killing stealthfully through the main campaign. But I was on "Sniper Elite(Hard)" setting. Wait, actually on the second playthrough I used custom settings. You need BOTH settings HUD & mimimap set to "Sniper Elite(Hard)" to get the mimimap to work (unfortunately). And if you have "authentic attachments" = on your silencer (and suppressed ammo) will be ineffective, and you won't have zooms. Also worth noting: playing in custom difficulty drops your effective difficulty reward level, and disables some achievements. The devs punish you for using it. I rebel by showing them my middle barrel and using it anyway.

This is the only way I like to play the single player maps.

ok if they are all yello in one space,run to the next one they will calm down.otherwise grab a good handgun and kill everyone, i use the1911 or nagat.

Think what you like i know ive done it maybe if you spent more time playing the game you might be able to.

stealth in this game is very solid only if you know how it works, so this is why I recommend start playing SE4 from easier difficulty. If your position got blown away, there must be a witness who watched you kill their guy cuz your detection range goes full circle in minimap when you are doing suspicious thing like killing them. And depends on your difficulty, silent takedown isnt really that silent. that makes noise as well and someone will hear around. These features makes this game harder and annoying sometimes, but on the other hand, it makes sense.

I honestly applaud the Sniper Elite franchise for its stealth mechanics. One of the few (if not the only stealth franchise) that features enemies who will actually investigate when their friends just seemingly go "poof" because I dumped their dead body in a bush.

Most stealth games always feature NPC that appear completely oblivious to their surroundings.

Dave: "Hey Bob, where's Jimmy?"

Bob: "Dunno Dave, he was right here a second ago."

Dave: "Stay alert Bob, I think someone is trying to sneak up on us."

...........

Dave: "Bob, Bob? Come in Bob!......Jimmy? Bob? Anyone copy? Come on guys this isn't funny anymore!"


Player sneaks up behind Dave;

Player: "Sup?"

Dave: "Guys, anyone copy? I think someone is sneakin around"

Player: "Let me just...."

Player breaks Dave's neck


And that for the most part is how stealth works in most stealth games. So kudos to Sniper Elite for getting something right.

BUT it is impossible to do while using the sniper rifle. I can do all the missions stealth, but you only use the sniper rifle like twice through out the mission. I dont think you guys are playing on the hardest difficulty. "You saying some players", shows that you have not done it and you have no argument in this conversation. If you want to use the sniper in the game SNIPER ELITE you have to turn the difficulty down to be stealthy. End of story.

@Kevin, just because you snipe someone and the enemies go yellow doesn't mean that you are no longer being stealthy. It means they were alerted to trouble, not that they necessarily saw you. They saw their buddy go down, or saw a bullet hit something.

If they then see you, then your stealth is blown. But if you are moving and staying hidden, and using suppressed ammo from a distance, then you can snipe a whole lot of the enemy army without your position ever being known or suspected. If you think it's impossible to use your rifle and remain undetected then you haven't learned how to play the game yet. That my friend is the end of the story.
