Which GUN should I use ?
I am now using Winchester Model 1895 but I want to know which GUN is the best as I want to be the master of that gun ... I am now lvl 4 and I want to complete the game and the DLC with that best gun only.... If I can unlock all upgrades then I will be happy....

I have heard that Carcano M91/41 and Mosin-Nagant M91/30 is one of the best .... ( I do love long rang shot )

Please let me know .... and this is for your information that I have season pass so I have got all guns......

+1 for Mosin Nagant. Highest muzzle velocity of all rifles in game = least amount of bullet drop.
Best rifle IMO. :SE4Round:

There is no comparison, because every gun is best on it's own way. Spend time with all of them and find out which one suits you the best.

Which ever gun you enjoy the most - for whatever reason - is the best, really.

For long range shooting the Mosin is arguably the best, but the Winchester has a higher rate of fire for a small loss of zoom and muzzle velocity, and I've been enjoying using it recently. Using any of the rifles that have an integral magazine is a plus in Authentic, too.

BTW, you can power through weapon masteries by reloading quicksaves made at opportune moments over and over. Mind numbing, yes - but much faster than just by playing the game normally.

Thanks for the advice ... I have decided that I will play with Mosin only .... as I have long way to go ( main missions and all DLC) , i need a gun with long range which Mosin can do only ( I think )

Hey I used mosin yesterday but couldn't down 215 meters enemy... I shoot 3 bullets but the enemy didn't down... How it is good!

Whereas my Winchester is good I shoot 215 meter enemy...

Am I doing anything wrong with mosin?

The Winchester is frighteningly good. I would use it myself, were it not for the 4x scope. The fact that enemies sometimes require an extra bullet is negligible due to its swiftness.

At any distance distance between 180 and 220 with zeroing set to 200, should be good for headshots. Allowing for wind.

If you try on Sniper Elite difficulty. Set a weapon on the x4 zoom and see where the bullet lands. Then increase zoom to 6x and aim at the same place. You may notice that the results differ. The problem is, when you increase zoom, you need to take a number of things into account. Mainly, that The Mils will provide you with different information.

At 300 yards with a 6x, 1 Mil at the top, should be about 1 body width (shoulder to shoulder). Using a telescopic zoom on the same target at 8x would mean that, 1 mil is no longer a body width, but something else, like half a body width, or something.

It's a 'bit like' the effect from increasing your range meter. But along along both axis.

This is the effect of swapping between those two rifles on a difficulty, where zoom can not be adjusted.

A good place to practice is the beggining of Abrunza Monastary. Some nice long shot, with just a tickle of wind. The little roof you start on with give you some nice 300m + shots. And the Long roof just ahead at 2 o'clock, will allow you to increase wind effect, depending on which end you stand.

If you take supressed ammo. You can Clean the town square and still have 20 rounds of good ammo, for distance shots.

There is a trick!

Right where you start, behind the chimney. You will see a drain pipe. Once you have killed anyone likely to flank you. (1 in front, 1 at 3 o'clock, 2, 100m away on roof at 2 o'clock and 1 at 9 o'clock).

You can slide onto the pole and climb back on the roof. You are now in the perfect spot to shoot the town square and any potential flankers from the left. You may feel at bit exposed at first. But if your using suppressed ammo. The guys in the town square won't even see you. It's like magic.

One other thing. If you shoot targets, lets say 245 yards between 12 and 1 oclock. Set the range to 300m And aim for where their canteen would be or down towards their right knee as they face you. You will know the shot after a couple of shots.

It's 'like' bullet rise, instead of bullet drop. It save you from obscuring the target with the crosshair. You should do this a lot. A rifle set to 100m, is pretty much good a killing most ranges you will encounter through general play. As long as you bare in mind, that you have set it to 100m. But as with everything, there's a time and a place. Inception is a good map to switch to 100m. You'll see why if you try it.

As your paying attention to all of this carry on (in game, not the crap I'm spouting). Pick up a G43 and fire a couple of shots with it. You should notice a drastic difference, compared to what you have become accustomed to.

In the end it all boils down to this. You want to kill that sniper, far away. With 2 shots maximum, not 3 and my guess is. That, you'll want to see him just a little bit better aswell, because there's not a lot to see in the first place.

Which brings us back to the Mosin Nagant. :)
Hummmm

Okay. Some facts abpout the Mosin Nagant. These are important on A+.

High Velocity
6x Scope
Can reload without potentially losing ammo
2 shots anyone at most

Mauser is comparable but sometime 3 shots are needed.

I can't speak for the carcano.

Winchester is a most excellent weapon due to its speed, however it suffers from a 4x scope.

Kar 98 4x scope

G43, your about to ambush a squad and you only have ten rounds left because you need to blat officers four times in the face before it registers that they've even been shot. And the worst about it is, you can't reload because then you'll only have 8 rounds.

Other guns are a disapointment because they are weak (Lee Enfield) and theres evfen one called a manlicker (lol).

ofc, Garand is arguably the most fun for blatting enemies, due to its rate of fire and clip sound but if you want a weapon that gets the job done, without any fuss, go with the Mosin.
Nahhhhh..... Mosin is not suitable for me I am now with my Winchester only... It's so cool...

The Ross Mark III is amazing for long range shooting. 16x zoom, high muzzle velocity, very high damage, overall great rifle. The 5 round magazine isn't an obstacle, but it does take some time to reload all 5 rounds.

I've had this problem at times with ALL the rifles, I guess it's just an uncommon game glitch. And if you are playing on Authentic mode the "spread" may be biting you. The spread is just random, so sometimes you just draw big spread numbers and miss because of the spread. Personally I agree the Mosin is best for all except MP coop survival mode below Authentic modes (M1 Garand).

I've done the same thing, even with the M1 Garand, dead-on hit them 3 times in the face AFAICT (even at about 50-100m) and still they didn't go down! It happens, it's not the rifle. It could even be an invisible barrier (glitch in the environment).

It's a question like what can I use to cut a loaf of bread. ;-) That depends.

If you're in an area with targets up to 300m I would use a rifle like the SVT or similar.
You've got quick firepower if you need it, and a good range. (All those weapons should be unlocked of course). Many a time, it makes the total difference.
For missions and ranges further than that I would use (and I do) a rifle like the Carcano. It's a very good rifle for long distances, with high penetrating power - and 16 times zoom.
At first I used the Ross Mark III (because I unlocked that rifle first) than nearly all the rest and I like the Carcano very much.
But it is your task to find the best weapon for you. Good luck!

I like the Winchester lever action because you get the accuracy of bolt action but slightly higher rate of fire.

In my experience with gaming, when you hit any mob that's not "special-in-some-way" in the face three times with a high caliber round, it goes down (usually with 1-round). I was surprised when I didn't find this to be true in Sniper Elite 4. In fact, if you ping an enemy's helmet, it might take four or five more shots to down him. High caliber, high velocity rounds going to a mob's face should take him down. At least that's been my reality until now.
