Laptops are not ideal for true 3D AAA game titles. They are perfect for LAN parties, or gaming groups that want to meet in person, that's all. There is just too many issues for serious gamers, including lack of upgradeability.

thanks, you,re right. next one is a desktop. what is wierd is a played 1700+ hours in the game. Far Cry 5 does good. Got a Razer laptop, get them support there.

This isn't a AAA title and isn't very demanding. If you've played 1700 hours already and haven't had an overheating problem before (assuming I understand you correctly), then something else is amiss. Suggest you try the usual checklist.

Thanks, upgraged the video driver, so far so good. got a temp app also.

The laptop sits on a Tree New Bee Cooling system using 4 fans. I;ll blow out any dust. I checked the game, Ive played 1400 hours, not 1700. Anyway Im burned out on anyway and ALL other games fun great. Thank You for reminding me about dust buldup.

HI
TESTING A LOWER CONFIGURATION

One rather odd thing I have noticed about this game is that usually when it is paused, or if you alt+tab to Windows, it seems to put max load on the GPU and the fans go at full speed.
Resuming the game, it gradually cools & the fans slow down.

Here's one solution to an overheating laptop problem... NOT recommended, lol...

Still locking up. Have to restart. you can actually feel the heat , key board, screen. incredible. No sniper elite 5 for me. About to blow away 4.

Had your exact problems. (gtx 1070 laptop) My solution was to:
Installing temp program that monitors cpu and gpu and displays in game. (alarm goes off if laptop hits 85c)
under clocking voltage on cpu with program called XTU
buy some good thermal paste removing the old crap and reapplying new stuff. (also thermal pads.) (learn how to do this before you attempt).
beefy cooling pad but I've always had it. (sure it helps)

Went from a usual 80c-90c to a 60c-70c (66c on this game consistently ) which also allowed me to turn up graphics setting on alot of games.

Thank you! I;ve got an application for temp, but not in game. I'll get XTU.. the game runs pretty good with the cooling pad, but locks up now and then. This is the only game I have with this problem. I'll wait on the paste, laptop is not even 1 year old. XTU might do it. Whats the name of the the temp program, in game?
Thnaks Again!!

didnt see this but I use MSI after burner for the alarm and in game text.

Thanks, I'll check out MSI after burner. Haven't played Sniper Elite 4 in awhile, SE5 may roll out?

I agree, DO NOT pause the game and walk away....tosses Windows err message and crashed my MSI LeopardPro which runs Dying Light no problems.

I got the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, trying to understand the temps. I watch Package temp , its around 46C. Sniper Elite 4, it goes to 70, 75 +. Anyway Im not running any game that cooks your laptop, LOL. I can feel the heat everywhwere. Dont know how I played 1400+ hours, I think the max is 100C, Far Cry 5 did good, Cold Waters, no problem. Getting a Desktop Gaming system next time!.
