I love the Nagant. It has great stopping power! Unfortunately, it takes a lot of time to load.

i love the HDM, and thats all i use, as i dont like carring silenced ammo, as i need the space in my bag to hold mines or granades

First of all, upgrading your weapons really pays off for getting a better range, accuracy etc.
Suppressed pistols: Welrod pros/cons agains the HDM:
Damage/accuracy +
Rate of fire - -
Both pistols have the same range.
So the HDM can help out if you want to be silent and be able to take out quickly two or more enemies at the same time, with the Welrod you will be too slow between shots and your cover could be blown if you want to stay silent (ghost earns more XP)
For one enemy at the time approach the Welrod gives more damage and accuracy.

If you want to take suppressed ammo with you for pistols who can switch between regular/suppressed ammo, there are some good options as well.
A really good choice for accuracy/range/rate of fire is the Walter PPK.
The Luger and the Tokarev have a bit less accuracy/range/rate of fire as the PPK but have a bit more damage and muzzle velocity as the PPK.

One of the pistols which I did not upgrade yet is the Nagant M1895, it has less accuracy/range/rate of fire as the other pistols I mentioned but has the largest damage ability of all the pistols together with the Webley MKVI, but the Webley can only use regular ammo.
So with the other mentioned pistols you have to be more accurate for a headshot to take out an enemy with one shot, because one body shot is not enough and could get you in trouble.
Probably with the Nagant and Webley one shot to the body could be enough to take out an enemy out, but the rate of fire is really slow.
But for me the pistols with only regular ammo are not really an option because it's just too loud and gives your position away.

Personally the PPK turned out to be my favorite due to the great accuracy/range/rate of fire. And by taking extra suppressed ammo with me in the loadout screen you can start out silent. Since you can take a lot of grenades/mines/tripwire/s-mines etc from killed enemies and in other places troughout the map that will not be a problem, i always had too much of the explosives left when I finished the mission and you also come across extra suppressed ammo during the mission as well to refill it.

Good luck on finding out what will be your favorite pistol!

Liked the sound of the PPK, when I used it when it first became available, but I love being able to 'body shot' kill and that I only get with the Nagent. Like the song goes 'tomato tomatoe, potato potatoe'. :steammocking:

Yesterday i tried out the Nagant, it really has a big impact! It even has a pretty good accuracy over a longer range and it fires it's shots rather quick, only the reload takes some time, but this is a serious big pistol!

Nothing more fun that using the PPK to hit enemies in the head 4 or 5 times until the die at 60m...

I am still starting with the welrod while I figure out my favorite pistol. My play style mostly uses the rifle with regular ammo and rely on distance to bait just a few enemies into range (with only a few exceptions where I do use suppressed), so the pistol is what I use mostly for silenced and undetected close combat.

Because of it I seem to prefer pistols that can headshot with one bullet, if possible up to 30m.

I have not yet tried them all (and I only just bought the season pack opening the door to many more to try) but so far the pistol that seems to do the trick best for my playstyle is the Luger.

Old thread, but FYI. The M1911 is no joke. And the Nagant is a one-shot kill monster that you will be able to master with enough play. Which can't be said for some of the other weapons in the game that for some reason will have the progression on one category of upgrade frozen. Like the recoil category with the M1 Garand. The Webley also has that kind of one-shot kill power. The TT-33 does not give as high as damage as the Nagant but it also will give you those suppressed one-shot body kills you might need to take. It also has good range. And you can get a second shot off more quickly than the Nagant. You can quickly take down entire Jager squads and even Valkarie squads with the TT-33. It's as effective as an SMG. For the reason of having a faster second shot, 8-shot clip and faster re-load the TT-33 is the deadliest handgun in Sniper Elite 4 and superior to the Nagant. But the Nagant is still more effective against body armor.
