Suppressed pistols: Welrod pros/cons agains the HDM:
Damage/accuracy +
Rate of fire - -
Both pistols have the same range.
So the HDM can help out if you want to be silent and be able to take out quickly two or more enemies at the same time, with the Welrod you will be too slow between shots and your cover could be blown if you want to stay silent (ghost earns more XP)
For one enemy at the time approach the Welrod gives more damage and accuracy.
If you want to take suppressed ammo with you for pistols who can switch between regular/suppressed ammo, there are some good options as well.
A really good choice for accuracy/range/rate of fire is the Walter PPK.
The Luger and the Tokarev have a bit less accuracy/range/rate of fire as the PPK but have a bit more damage and muzzle velocity as the PPK.
One of the pistols which I did not upgrade yet is the Nagant M1895, it has less accuracy/range/rate of fire as the other pistols I mentioned but has the largest damage ability of all the pistols together with the Webley MKVI, but the Webley can only use regular ammo.
So with the other mentioned pistols you have to be more accurate for a headshot to take out an enemy with one shot, because one body shot is not enough and could get you in trouble.
Probably with the Nagant and Webley one shot to the body could be enough to take out an enemy out, but the rate of fire is really slow.
But for me the pistols with only regular ammo are not really an option because it's just too loud and gives your position away.
Personally the PPK turned out to be my favorite due to the great accuracy/range/rate of fire. And by taking extra suppressed ammo with me in the loadout screen you can start out silent. Since you can take a lot of grenades/mines/tripwire/s-mines etc from killed enemies and in other places troughout the map that will not be a problem, i always had too much of the explosives left when I finished the mission and you also come across extra suppressed ammo during the mission as well to refill it.
Good luck on finding out what will be your favorite pistol!
Yesterday i tried out the Nagant, it really has a big impact! It even has a pretty good accuracy over a longer range and it fires it's shots rather quick, only the reload takes some time, but this is a serious big pistol!
Because of it I seem to prefer pistols that can headshot with one bullet, if possible up to 30m.
I have not yet tried them all (and I only just bought the season pack opening the door to many more to try) but so far the pistol that seems to do the trick best for my playstyle is the Luger.
