Rifle stability
What exactly is it that the stability stat does for rifles? My first assumption was that it affected scope sway in some manner. I tried to find out by testing different rifles on the range but so far i'm still clueless.

Stability has no effect on Scope Sway. It defines how much "Aim Flinch" you get when hit, less stability means a more extreme destabilisation. High stability is important for open combat weapons, but arguably almost useless on Sniper Rifles.

If you want a good test, try the M1 Garand against one of the better bolt action sniper rifles in Survival Mode. The M1 has the worst stability currently available, and that's extremely noticable once you're looking for it - even a single pistol-calibre shot can force you to recenter.
