Im not a fan of the heartbeat sound in general too...

I did some minor research on this and it may be possible.
Sound files are in the /sound/ folder, where I just found a bunch of .asr files.

One source confirmed that they are audio streaming resource archives, that are basically zip-files that can be unpacked with "offzip". Then I downloaded offzip and tried the windows cmd.

I did manage to extract a bunch of files from GmSnd.asr but they didn't look like sound files.

just be carefull changing game files, the game now has anti cheat on it, and it may check for things like file sizes or changes?

hate for someone to get a ban of any type....

posted in patchs info:
Added anti cheat measures

Actually, removing the heartbeat sounds works exactly like it did for V2. See my post about it at http://www.snakebytestudios.com/2013/07/removing-heartbeats-from-sniper-elite-v2/

rename the sound file Gmsnd.asr to Gmsnd.asr.test or something else. your welcome. irritating heartbeat noise gone. why this isnt an option or a mod i do not know. i see there are some 'trainers' out there that will do it, but i dont want to use one.
removes breathing noise too.

i disagree.. i havent noticed any problems and been using it this way.
90% of sounds? im guessing you havent actuually tried it then.
i havent noticed *anything* but breathing and heartbeats being gone, much less 90% of anything.
to each their own of course. i been using it this way now for the last couple days with no issues.

Have you tried to remove the constant chimes for being in cover, out of cover, etc.? I still have the files but I'd have to rebuy the game to try it out.

Have you actually tried it for Sniper Elite 4 yourself? I can't get the offzip command to do anything else than extract a bunch of unknown files. Using the quickbms script I can get the wav files extracted but I am not able to re-pack them.

Just tried it. It turns out this doesn't work on 4 because even the unpacked "files" are also encrypted or garbled. If you get Sniper Elite 2 and try it, it does work but he obviously never tried it with 4 as it doesn't work.

Doesn't work with Sniper Elite 4. Might want to test it before mentioning it. If you have a new method then mention that as your V2 method doesn't work for V4.

It removes a few sounds from cut scenes. Looking in the asr file you can see it doesn't just contain the heartbeat sound. So yes, it removes other sounds.

Seems in V4 the reference the heartbeat is in file 012edc30.dat when unpacked. The questions is how do you edit it, the site mentioned here seems to assume everyone reading it is a programmer. Then no mention how to import them after. As the game doesn't seem to read the unpacked files.
