And this makes me come up with main very positive aspect of SE4.
I recently purchased Ghost Warrior II for a few Euros. I had some good souvenirs of version one. Also some bad.
And after a few missions I totally did dump Ghost Warrior II. Main reason is that path you have to follow are preset in game. You cannot make your own strategy and walk where you want, prepare your attack, then run it. There is a idiot shouthing in your ears what to do, what to look at, what to shoot.
Reversely in SE, and since SE2 YOU are in command and define your strategy and path of attack (or prepared retreat). You master your own game (or death). In addition Rebellion did listen to his players. Since SE3 we can save when WE want. Not when game (and devs) did decide. In Ghost Warrior II you just can't, so if you fail, as was case with SE2 you are condemned to replay the same part gain and again. Till you see (on a dark 17" screen what that stoopid sarge was yelling about).
I still do hate the end of last mission in SE4. But SE4 comes way on top of my pleasure to run through georgous sceneries and go anywhere on map I do choose to. Including in DLC's
And this mainly because I feel I am in command of my strategy (and my mistakes). I am immersed in game totally and I folow my own path in SE4. Not one decided by devs.
TY to the Rebellion team for a brilliant game (safe the end of the Fortress :-)
