Best Rifle or Rifles for Authentic?

I need some tips before starting all the campaign on Authentic.
Best Rifles and Sec Weapons?
Someone can confirm that silenced ammos have more drag and drop vs standard ammos?

Honestly the only rifle I use is the Gewehr 43 (the M1 Garand perhaps too, but it's DLC only).

Hitting anything in Authentic can be challenging so I prefer to use a semi-automatic rifle. It lacks the power of other rifles but lets you fire off some secondary shots quickly if you miss. Plus headshots are pretty much deadly no-matter what you use.

Thanks for the advice, i thought about mosin or carcano for high velocity... but i'll tank in account every answer :)

I've seen a lot of people using the standard Springfield rifle due to its zoom and stuff. On most maps you can just tank by sniping everyone from miles away. I personally use the Mosin as a main, and the Gewehr 43 as a main in another loadout. Have yet to play authentic, but it's on my list of things to do. (After completing Horizon Zero Dawn on PS4)

As for the secondary, I think the FNAB is really good. High rate of fire and decent damage. Don't know how it fares on authentic, but it might be good. If SMG's aren't your thing, use the trench gun. It's OP af.

Thx for the tips, i compared carcano and mosin and they are pretty much the same.
Yea, i prefer SMGs cause i tend to aim for headshots or spray and pray but trench is a little trickier cause most often than not i need 4 shots to kill someone cause i shot from too far.

Confirmed :)
There is a large difference between subsonnic and regular ammo.
I would suggest to stick to one type of ammo bc it can be confusing at times.
+ npc's can still hear the sound at a certain range (it's not completely silent like in the lower difficulties)
The hud is completely gone so it can be difficult at times to know if the npc's are alerted or not (they do look for their fellow soldiers if they dissapear)

As for the weapons i went with the mosin and thompson + the welrod.
Since i didn't needed my secondary i cannot tell if that's the best choice or not.

Take your time and only shoot when needed and you are certain and you'll be fine :)

I find it hard to stay fully suppressed in authentic so I use the M1 Garand (with upgraded skills) good for multiple shots as some enemies require two headshots.

Also if your having trouble host it as a coop game, makes it better

I tryed out the Garand in the survival mode and i can say that rifle is pretty awesome! I think i stick with it also for Authentic!
Btw Survival solo is a pain in the ass. And i am playing Normal..... sigh..

Use welrod too, you can die fast in authentic. Just only focus on primary objectives.

Yea i got the season pass so i use most the HDM, cause often when i shot the enemy change position so i miss the head.

The best rifle IMO is the ZH29 from the Cold Weather DLC. You have a 20 round mag for those quick follow up shots. When the enemies get right back up from a direct hit, no matter the rifle, the ability to quickly follow up with a second shot is important.

most would probably tell you mosin is best as its very popular. but im also using the garand and find it very reliable as a mid range rifle. while the mosin dose have much better damage what dose that damage matter if you need that quick follow up shot? your not always guaranteed a 1 hit kill especially on the higher difficulty's. my second and third fav are the winchester lever action (who dose not love to be a cowboy?) and the ross mk3 which is the quickest bolt action rifle. i also LOVE the trench for secondary but the PPSH is also a great choice. highest rate of fire and recoil dampening with a hefty drum mag to boot. whats not to love? pistol for me is always the m1911. just because its my fav pistol in real life aswell. the stats are a bit off in this game i feel though. they about got rof right but that puppy shoots 45 acp rounds. damage should be a bit higher. my second fav is the walther ppk. while it dose suffer allot in damage and muzzle velocity its quick rof and Insanely accurate shots make it a beast in cqc.
