Not sure which mission you are referring to, usually its just kill all the germans nearby and its automatic, however on the Train Rail Gun mission, one of the check points has a nearby turret that needs to be blown up (it looks like a panzer IV turret sticking out of the ground)

i got this too, destroying the trucks helped me at 1 checkpoint

I've had Germans wander off at that Checkpoint, finally caught them in the middle by the church a couple times. Once I found one at the train station across the river where you blow the weapons cache bunker. Just kill everybody on the level and you'll get the achievment! ;-)

Sam here guys! Same spot as the OP too, I think? Is it a bug? There's a patrolling armoured car, which I've taken out - blown up all the trucks in the area etc. Not sure what else to do...

The waypoint for the Secure Checkpoint objective is set above a clutch of exploded oil drums.
