Lorino Dockyard, how to play?

I can't figure out how to play this stealthy? I basically went in shooting.
Am I supposed to have silenced ammo for a sniper rifle? What am I missing here?

I always carry a 1911 with a box subsonic ammo and a box subsonic ammo for the precision rifle. You can infiltrate by stealth but the use of lethal force is needed here because of german snipers. Distraction / ambush / traps become handy.

just finished it, took me 2 hours 19 minutes, good level. Some stealth parts, some guns blazing parts, got me the FG 42, nice toy.

And if you need more cover/darkness to hide in, you can shoot out most of the lights in that mission.

did not know I could shoot out the lights although Im already at the final mission. Guess I dont experiment as much :'( . Thanks for the info

Try delete all saves Auto and Manual and start the Mission again.

If you wanna go stealth, I suggest taking the delisle carbine.
You can still go loud in this mission, though. You don't get any specific benefits from doing it stealthy.
Personally, I prefer stealth. It gives you more control over the situation.

Correct, there is. It's called "The Shadow" & you have to complete the mission without being detected. This is the perfect map for it too, with darkness everywhere & the ability to shoot/smash the lights for extra darkness like @Archangel138 said, it's a sniper's heaven for stealth. Load up on suppressed ammo for both your rifle & pistol in this map, as much as you can carry. Don'y worry about any other items as you'll pick plenty of them up from corpses & the armoury in the centre of the map. There are a couple of spots in the map where you can go loud if you wish, but personally, stealth is much better. For a couple of extra challenges, kill everyone on the entire map without blowing-up any AA guns. (As this triggers a second wave of enemies). Then, grab the Panzerfaust from he armoury, & as many traps as you can carry, then cover all the entry points to the map & around the railway tracks entering the map with all the traps you've got. Then. blow up the AA guns which triggers a second wave of enemies to enter the map, right where you just laid-down all those traps. Sit back & watch the fireworks go off as one after another they blow themselves up & get you a challenge called "Fleet Of Foot" (get 10 trap kills without triangulation), once that one is done mop-up the remaining enemies with the Panzerfaust & kill 10 to get the "Operation Inferno" challenge. Easy! Have fun & good luck.

...use distraction rocks and save on the ammo...:)

Not only can the rocks distract people to move where you want them, you can chuck them at most of the lights to knock them out. Doesn't quite work on caged lights and requires a roughly direct hit on the lightbulb, so hitting the light shades and covers won't work, and it won't work on the street lamps.
