Fraps not showing up in game

I had no problem launching the game and using fraps to record before the update today. Fraps fps counters seem to have disappeared. I go into another game and the fps counter is there. So it is not as if the overlay is hidden. I have reinstalled fraps twice and nothing has changed. Any ideas how to fix it?

You have to play with DX11 to see the Fraps overlay. It's not workin with DX12 (you can measure the fps, though). Since the tool hasn't been updated for four years now (!) that's not very surprising. ;-)

How can I run the game through DX11. I have looked through all the options and can't find an answer online.
