It is all about pulling the trigger and what comes after.
My personal focus is on stealth and ghosting, but you can play it guns blazing, too.
DLC bonus missions for SE series: 4 Hitler(s) are dead now :D
Jump into this, you don`t miss anything by letting the "prequels" behind. It is all about fun, nothing more, nothing less.
The games are not really linked together with regard to time line.
You mention the game mechanics; they are similar across all 4 games so you can drop into any of them and feel at home.
If I could only buy only one of the previous titles - I'd probably get SE2. It feels more varied in level design (although very linear) and has a stronger back story. Multplayer is weak now because of it's age but there are still some players.
i might give SE2 and SE3 a go when theyre on sale :)
There cant be enough dead Hitlers :D
