Still no visible bullet wounds?! Could one of the devs explain why?
Hi everyone,

The whole concept of the x-ray in Sniper Elite is awesome, but why there's still no visible wounds on the enemies?
They weren't in SE2, then SE3 came out and they were missing as well and now that SE4 comes out they're still not in :x?

I mean, you shoot an enemy in the face, x-ray shows how his skull gets completely shattered, yet when you go to the victim of your bullet he doesn't even have a bullet whole anywhere? Is this a joke? Games from 15yrs back had it!

This is really disappointing. I thought they will finally add it in after so many years, but guess I was wrong :/...

Don't play it or, purchase it, then. You will not be missed.

What is your problem :x?! I merely asked why is this still missing from the game?
Even more so since the 1st Sniper Elite had bullet wounds on enemies after shooting them, and it was released over 10yrs ago.

There were times in V2 where they would have wounds that looked like bloomed roses on their faces...lol

I really enjoy the series but I agree though and have no idea why they don't go all the way. I hate the explosive "damage" too. Looks like dude's rolled around in some dirt after stepping on a landmine. The game's already rated M so committ to that s..t. They've already shown they can do realistic damage with ZAT and for them to withold that from the main series is just f..king lame.

Disappointed as well. It is long due to implement full realistic gore. You gotta squeeze all the juice out of your audience rating...

I am 100% sure if you went head exploding, arms falling off, that it would attract massive new clientele...

Not mentioning that right now it simply looks "meh" after being absent in 3 installments in a row. I didn't mind it missing in Sniper Elite 2 since they just came up with the idea of the x-ray so I was cool with it missing. Then 3rd one came out and I was disappointed it wasn't implemented.

Now the 4th one comes out, in 2017, and it's still missing? Really?!
I wouldn't mind it missing if there would be no brutal x-ray in, but since it's in and you literally can see enemies faces torn apart on them there's just no excuse for it being absent!

That would really change the feeling of the game, as the 4th one looks pretty much identical to the 3rd (and this one bored me to death in the middle of 3rd mission), even the HUD is the same.

Wish they added some gore mechanism (yes bullet wounds too) too, at least differentiate fromt he previous sniper 3.

For now...its still looks like a mere reskin of the old sniper elite 3 with DLC episodes.

Couldn't agree more. HUD looks identical, font is also identical, graphically it looks the same. Anyways, like already mentioned the lack of ANY visible gore on bodies after seeing the gruesome X-Ray is just awful! Is it really that hard to add it given how brutal the game already is due to the said X-Ray camera :x?!

I loved Sniper Elite 2, the 3rd one bored me to death in the middle of the 3rd mission and Sniper Elite 4 looks too much like you said, a re-skin of SE3 as an Italy based DLC.

I agree with this. Seeing skulls shatter, eyes pop out, etc. while his head on the outside remains untouched is pretty lame.

If you look at the face of the guy whose eyes supposedly just exploded...you'll notice that they're both still there and fully intact.

Add some damage/wounds and I'll buy in a heartbeat...but until then I think I'll pass on this newest installment.

You know what the ironic pat of this is? Nazi Zombies games have visible gore in them! So Rebellion have the working gore in their engine. Question is though: why the heck isn't it used in Sniper Elite?

Like I already wrote above: I loved Sniper Elite 2 due to the complete feeling of World War 2 as you were running around destroyed cities and I explained the absence of visible gore as the Rebellion's 1st attempt at this unique X-Ray mechanics.

Then Sniper Elite 3 came out and it turned into a "borefest" for me after finishing only 2 missions (the African areas they decided to use were extremely empty and boring) and I started to wonder why wasn't the visible gore included this time around as Nazi Zombies already had it so Rebellion had to have this mechanic in their engine.

Now Sniper Elite 4 is coming out, it looks like a re-skin of Sniper Elite 3 and the visible gore is still missing. I can't undertand why and therefore I will never buy this game. It's just sad given that these brutal X-Ray cams are included, guys leg gets torn apart by an explosion or a large caliber bullet and his body is intact!

Geez, a ton of Playstation 2 shooters back in the day had it in, but a game released in 2017 doesn't? Is this a joke?

Sniper Elite is slowly turning into another Call of Duty as it's Rebellion's biggest franchise. I mean, it's enough to look at how similar Sniper Elite 3 and 4 are. 4th installment could be instead made into SE3 DLC and nobody would notice as they're so similar.

When they first announced SE4 I was excited because I thought that they will finally fix my biggest gripe with the series after so many years, but oh boy, how wrong was I!

Lack of visible wounds on dead bodies was your biggest gripe? I mean, it does strike me as somewhat lazy that the damage visible during kill cams doesn't translate back into the game, but it's pretty low on my list of improvement wishes for the franchise. Bigger levels, better mobility, more weapon mechanics, prettier environment, less predictable NPCs, .... those are far more important to me than red holes in dead Germans.

You got some valid points in there because Sniper Elite 3 bored me to death mere 3 hours into it and Sniper Elite 4 looks like a simple re-skin of the previous installment, although I would buy it if only the gore would be finally visible; and yes, this is the only reason why I'm not going to buy it.

The lack of it is pure lazyness since like I've mentioned they already have that mechanics in their engine as it is used in Nazi Zombies.

I was excited too. I bought it anyway to play co-op with a buddy, but man...maybe release some visible gore DLC or something.

It's always an option if you ain't got anything to play coop with at the moment. I will never understand why gore still haven't beem added as they already (I'll repeat myself again :P) have that mechanic in as it's present in Nazi Zombies.
