We do actually have a weapon used by the Japanese, although it's journey to them was slightly convoluted. The ZH-29 was designed in Czechoslovakia in the late '20s and adopted into service in China. After going to war with China, the Japanese produced an unlicenced copy and used it themselves.
if karl is there doing what the game depicts, right now? , would you see the turks and germans , russans running arround with japan made rifles? , if thats a yes, then im all good with it, if its a no , then theres no real point putting them in .
again they may be a great rifle, and i understand you love them, but if the shoe dont fit........
again just keeping the debate going
Karl feels more like a merc, a lot of factions like the British, Germans, Russians, Italians, Japan, USA stole weapons from each other really.
Some of the factions stole the rifles then build there own version of them.
An SOE commando would have good reason to use a Carcano or Mauser when operating in Italy. Guns aren't infallible and eventually they would need spare parts that simply aren't available. Resupply from England would be dangerous, so a much more practical option would be to use a locally made gun. A Carcano performs reasonably well and there would be absolutely no issue finding spare parts or ammo for it.
That being said, you're never going to find an Arisaka in Italy. It was created for the sole use of the Japanese military and never exported to Europe. Even if you did find one, finding ammo and parts for it will prove nigh impossible.
I would rather see French guns feature. The MAS-36 was an excellent rifle and much more fitting of the location. Northern Italy directly borders onto France, and the Free French were critical allies during mid-late WWII.
you are wrong on the export part. they were in fact exported to italy in WW1 and lots were set to britain pre-WW1
