Why is there no brightness option in this game? Is there a mod for it?
It's impossible to tell if somethings a tunnel or not because it all just blends in together in the shadows. Like a contrast option or gamma or anything it is so annoying to drown because it looks like a tunnel but it isnt and the monks 3 second held breath isnt enough to get out.

This game is great but it also feels like i'm fighting the game to actually be able to engage with it.

also ♥♥♥♥ underwater tunnels it's the most accurate simulator of sticking a usb a plug in the port in pitch darkness. You can do the exact same input every time and roll the dice on if the slug cats fat ass wants to fit, dude will rub his head on all the corners and every inch of the wall just to somehow not fit in. Actually ♥♥♥♥ water in general, there are parts where you litterally can not use the analog stick to get out because you can never get a pure "up" input, which you need to get out of some of the water pits.

I HATE WATER

Unfortunately don't know of a mod doing that (unshaded citadel is close, but not that).

And I believe that's intentional to encourage exploration/map use/bubble weed? Plus a way to soft gate the monk out of difficult areas.

If you haven't yet, you can also increase your breath through remix options (and disable the boost penalty) and even further than that with several different mods.

It is annoying just how dark many zones are, getting a light tends to be a top priority for my poor eyesight to see anything.
yeah, i want a brightness mod so badly. water can be made easier by the SimplifiedMoveset mod (drowning removed, highly recommend, makes controlling scugs much less troublesome) but unfortunately there's nothing for brightness.

There IS mods for getting a glow you get later on in game, but I'd recommend you'd use only Emerald Tweaks And Fixes-- the other mod I've found causes the light to occasionally break, move away from the slugcat, and rapidly flash

it makes it just a little bit to navigate stuff imo, because even using monk, the light you are provided SUCKS.

I completely agree with you. This game is sorely lacking in brightness settings. The tunnels are too dark and blend into the background, which is why it is often simply impossible to understand where the character can crawl through. And turning up the brightness separately in the system settings or on the monitor only when you play one specific game is extremely inconvenient and a crutch.
This game REALLY needs at least a brightness mod.

There is a brightness mod, yes. It should be one called Lights On or something like that!!
