Gourmand Crafting Recipes

Anybody found any unique ones?

Here's some useful combinations I've found so far:

rock + fruit -> flashbang
rock + flashbang -> lantern
[reversible by combining lantern with another rock]
rock + bat weed OR karma flower -> firecracker plant
rock + firecracker plant -> grenade
rock + water nut -> jellyfish
rock + spore grenade -> tether grenade
[reversible by combining spore grenade with another rock]
bat weed + firecracker plant -> tether grenade
firecracker plant + jellyfish -> bat weed
tether grenade + bat weed -> spore grenade
spore grenade + jellyfish -> some sort of edible egg, I dunno
firecracker plant + fruit -> tether grenade

As you can see, a pretty reliable way to get something new is to just mash it together with a rock. I also get the feeling that some food items in recipes like jellyfish are interchangeable.

Also, don't disregard his item regurgitation ability. It's incredibly useful for getting versatile crafting materials you otherwise wouldn't find in a region, and allows you to improvise with anything else you find, all at the cost of one food pip. If you play gourmand right, you should never be without a great combat tool in hand.

By the way, I've yet to find any combinations with spears, but I think there's got to be considering one of the dream sequences depicts the gourmand wrapping something around a spear with various plants around the borders. Let me know if you guys find anything.

No spear combos. But I do suggest finding a few karma flowers. There's a lovely little orb awaiting at the end of that crafting sequence.

Is that actually confirmed, or is that just the assumption? Slugcats might be hermaphroditic. Artificer might be a single father.

EDIT: Nope, confirmed female in the developer commentary. Cool. And Gourmand is confirmed male. The other slugcats are up in the air.

I do like the idea of looking at circular crafting to better remember some recipes - maybe I'll build that into the next version of this sheet.




And for the damn Gourmand spear scribble - either that's him embellishing his abilities as he's telling the story (not that he needs to, but damn it would fit his character) or he's really just pulling off an ingredient instead of attaching it.

It's implied Gourmand is embellishing most of the story, particularly when it comes to all the things he vomits up and crafts. Bringing one specific craftable to Moon even has her comment on this.

if you craft a grenade and rock you get a pearl

if your in a scav toll without a pearl heres a recipe

batnip + rock = cherrybomb
cherrybomb + rock = grenade
grenade + rock = pearl

so mash a bunch of rocks with batnip and you get a pearl
