First Update: Difficulty Tweaks

Hi everybody!

Tempest Tower is almost 14 days old and we have been collating a lot of early feedback. Many players feel that the difficulty curve of the game is quite steep and unforgiving, and this is reflected in the median time played. To combat this, we have made some balance changes, added a new level, and updated the experience required to unlock new buildings. We hope that this update smooths out the difficulty curve, while still offering a challenge in the later levels.

New Level: added an easier level after the tutorial to help with initial player experience
Updated Level Order: level order has been shifted to accomodate for this new level (for example "Desert World 4" is now "Desert World 5")
Level Balance: general balance/difficulty tweaks across all levels
Rework of enemy navigation to be more robust and performant
Additional decorative objects placed around levels (sandcastles!)

Feedback on gameplay

Fun little game! I'm actually quite enjoying it. One question I had though is about removing or relocating towers. The tutorial walked me through demolishing a couple, but then when I tried to demolish others it doesn't let me. I press X all day long, it won't demolish anything. Is there a reason I cannot just demolish or relocate all towers during my build phase? That isn't clear. I would like to be able to move things around that way I can take advantage of the soul flowers. Bug blasters seem a b...

Mine so far. 1. Maybe add in a indicator for the explosive fruits when you're holding them so you can see what direction you're throwing them + where they'll land. Feel free to leave your own suggestions here too.

What a launch week! It has been so nice to read all the reviews and thoughtful feedback from the early adopters of Tempest Tower. We have also seen a few new faces in our Discord[hpy.lol], sharing strategies and ideas about the game. If you are struggling with a level it is the perfect place to be!

We are just getting started

We have an initial plan for Tempest Tower laid out, but Early Access is all about learning from the community of players who love your game the most. We are listening to all the feedback that people are writing in Steam Reviews, on the Community Hub, and in our Discord and we will be adjusting our plan as we move forward with development. Just a couple quick fixes based on initial feedback.

- Souls persist a little longer before disappearing
- Unlock threshold reduced to 1500
- Balance tweaks to Desert World 1

Tried it and yeah...no, terrible controls wonky weird disgusting

i wonder if an actualy sane mind made the controls, they feel incredibly off and weird and wonky, especially the need to use your movement to point your broom and not something easier to aim, something that has no use in fighting and could help, something that people easily move, maybe something like the bloody mouse. Decades ago developers figured out that control sheme sucks but I guess it did not flow to you guys yet....

Steam Next fest Demo Feedback

Thank you for the game! I am interesting in playing fully but here are some of my really brief thoughts: Pro's: The movement felt nice and smooth while on the ground. I enjoy the idea of building renewable resource systems to power towers. And I liked how the map built out as I played. I also GREATLY appreciate the free-flow of choosing where to put towers rather than it be completely pre-set. Cons: The towers felt really weak, I genuinely felt like I was throwing away money and time at a certain point b...
