Battle items are bad early game?
Title, right now it looks like you use the items as filler when all your skills are on cooldown? Does it get better?

EDIT : I'm talking about Lufts (for example), Healing items seem fine.

When you get partner actions they provide a burst of damage but as I've leveled up and got more skills and speed, I don't use them much outside partner actions. Granted I have not created anything above C tier with them so far.

So far I am not using items at all. It is much easier to max ingot mats and throw them into equipment for a lot of stat increase, Ryza style.

It's an Atelier game, of course the battle items are bad early game.

They get MUCH better later on when you can craft more powerful versions and get higher quality ingredients to synthesise them. There's also equipment that improves item damage which helps.

not the case in pre-ryza games

In most Atelier games battle items are much stronger then regular attacks in the early game.
Somewhat, but at least now I have 4 lufts to spam while waiting for the action bar to recharge. The ice items fare pretty well against the Punis though.

You have to progress a bit before the tutorial explains, but doing regular attacks will charge a meter, and then using Items will consume that meter to increase damage.

Also, once you unlock Team Attacks in the Skill Tree, you can use an item after breaking the enemy for a large burst of damage that consumes all charges on the item.

I just made rank 7 versions of the 2nd tier of items and OMG.. the meteor sword partner action is insane.

Doesn't this only apply to Yumia?
Once you can get larger particles to max out the recipe level and unlock higher quality levels they get to be pretty good.
