Simply put, you get achievements/trophies for the platform that you are playing on. Just because Steam decided that the award was also called achievements doesn't mean that it is the same as xbox. They are not and will not be linked.
No ♥♥♥♥. Thats not what I'm saying. I'm saying that consoles have the achievements and steam is the predominent PC games marketplace and should receive the same treatment. Thanks for being obvious though.
If you're saying that just because Steam is the predominant place to buy games so it should unlock XBox achievements for games that also exist on XBox it's not going to happen because it's not purchased from the Microsoft Store. They are not going to make a game that unlocks "achievements" for multiple platforms all at once.
Microsoft wants their cut of the sale of the games too. Steam already takes like 30%. If you involve all parties, no one will make any money.
Anyways, the achievements are the same across all platforms they just havent integrated them into steam because TellTale apparently don't care to give their older games on steam some love like Back to the Future got on PS4 for example.
Bottom line, buy the game for the platform you want achievements on because that's the only way you will get the game. If you produce your own game and sell it from your own website, you won't be able to put XBox, Steam or any other achievements in it unless you are able to sell the game on their platform.
The only time this changes is, for example, Minecraft. Every platform, except Playstation, will pop XBox achievements because Microsoft wanted it that way and they own the game/studio.
I got it mixed up with playstation my sincere apologies
I will allow it this time :)
damn youre just too cool seymour. what a hilarious joke thread that would be.
