Some guns have auto reload some don't, think it was a design choice to make some guns more convenient than others.

Yes, put it requires you to let go of click and click again. What OP is asking is if you can set it so that you do not need to click to reload.

Manually reloading a gun just doesn't seem to fit a fast paced bullet hell game, even the reloading itself is too long and slows the pace of the game down

just count your shots and switch to rapidly tap firing when you get to the end of the magazine, go back to holding when it's full.

Or, if you're like me, you have a mouse with more than just the 3 standard buttons, and have mapped Reload to one of the extra buttons, and tap that when you have to reload without letting go of the left mouse button.
