Green blob guy in shop

Sometimes, when in the shop, a green blob guy will be in some kind of sewer, he asks if i "brought something" and says he will give me money if i bring him something, what is he asking for? and how do i give it to him?

Drop an item or gun, and he will give you money for it.

He’ll give you money for guns, passives and items. Just drop stuff on the grate and he’ll turn it into money.
