I have stopped playing myself waiting for this reset. Im sure Im not the only one. Some info, rather then speculation would be common sense from a developer that has taken its players money.
I think they will tell us when they themself are sure.
Maybe if we knew I might keep playing so I can at least reach Commodore rank and keep something.
What you could do in the meantime is play a bit to learn the mechanics, be it combat, upgrading ships, buildings, trading, or whatever interest you. Use the time you have before the reset to ask questions or maybe even join a clan to learn faster.

my newest issue with NA is all those guys you were fighting against in the flag plant have all joined spain due to core apparently coming here, so spain is now stacked really heavily player pop wise, with no restrictions on percentage of players player joining one faction
