They are kind of PVP with no honour just like sucker punch in fight or fighting newbie or 1st time trainee in karate and you in top belts ;)
They all fair in real life its just how you look in to it. Pirates always attacked the vessels they were 100% in taking. it would be ganking :D
Its a figment of the imagination of most players. It is common practice for these players to say "In a fair fight i would have won". So the conclusion from this is that there is not much sense into fighting a "fair fight" is it ? Its only fair if they win and you lose but its dishonorable and cowardise or whatever if you win.
These are the same people that will come with 10 ships to chase you away for attacking one of their friends trading. That is not a gank but its "fair" pvp for their standards XD.
Let this be a life lesson to all : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wxi-IUnCN_8
I have never participated in ganking anybody (600+hours) because I don't enjoy the power imbalance and it feels like a waste of my time. Rather than play the bully's sidekick in my spare time, I would much prefer to play the plucky gankee and die with honour. Even better would be a fair fight, but that's a lot to ask. That's why I am against ganking.
I am not against people ganking me, because the majority of the human race is stuck in a 'Lord of the Flies' mindset and that won't change anytime soon. Every game needs bad guys after all. o7
You have issues. The problem with ganking and taking advantage of newer players is they leave the game. And no is left to play with you. Video games are not for teaching real life lessons. They are an escape from real life for a small amount of time. Once the escape is more taxing than the alternatives, people say “peace”.
This game has a very small community for this very simple reason. Its annoying to always be fighting against impossible odds as a newer player. The grind to level the odds is astronomical compared to most games. This game is not a competition to teach life lessons, its a treadmill to getting fatter and never leaving your mom’s basement. Real life doesn’t give two ***** about e-peen size.
Whatever.
I guess they get something out of it.
I stick to the PvE server...plenty enough there for me...and this isn't the only game I own.
It irks me to see another new player ditch the PvP part of the game. But its hard to blame you. To many player have to search far and wide for a fight so they just attack whatever players they find. Guess a bigger player base would be nice . . .
Sorry, I quoted Henry and it quoted you since he quoted you. There is an attitude from a number of players that games are never fair, deal with it. I do not agree with this snobbery. The stakes are a bit too high in this game so players often seek out fights in their favour rather than challenging fights. This really hurts new player development.
I see no one replied to your question about stern camping/raking, so I will.
The best way to counter this is to turn into the wind and sail backwards, snaking. This will put of a fair few stern campers. Sailing backwards is a really good skill to learn.
