The Crafting system is Industry Based. You have to create Outposts in Ports where certain materials exist and then create Building in them that produce basic resources, and then use these to craft things such as Upgrades, Consumables, Cannons and Ships.
There is no Tools Crafting, I am not sure what you referring to. Did you mean Ship Upgrades Crafting?
Also, the Economy and Crafting system in this game requires some improvement, it is very expensive as it stands to even setup, requiring many Doubloons and Quite a hefty amount of Reals, as it stands there is rampant inflation too in the Caribbean because many things are so expensive or not available enough which gives the perception of rarity and of course players associate rarity with Price and jack up everything...
Look in most Market how much Rum goes for 300 to 600+ per unit. When in reality you Craft/Produce Rum for 5 Reals per unit (not to mention the one you find in Loot form ships which is free actually to get).
It looks like many people do not know the real cost of Items in game and so buy overpriced items and then other players profit from it and then new players also price items high creating a very toxic snowball effect...
I think there are ways to improve this situation and I am hoping that the Devs are also working on it.
One thing is for sure, Historically Trade is the Result of Surplus, and Surplus requires ample Supply.
No civilization ever became a Trading Power with Rare Commodities. It was done with Surplus Commodities, and I am affraid the economy here seems to be based on Rarity Scarcity and High Prices...which actually causes players to hold on to everything in Clan based Closed Economies and Warehouses at the expense of Open National Trade and Commerce.
Anyways, if you have more specific Crafting questions please do ask, I can provide you with some Starting Industry Chains depending on what you want to do.
What is up with tools? I have not see the Blueprint for tools anywhere. Are you guys up to date? Many Commodities are not longer Craftables they are Seeded in Markets now.
Am I lacking information here?
To clarify... I am not a solo player and fortunate to have a handful of people within my clan. Between us we do have the shipyards forges forests and mines but thank you for suggesting this.
I finally got the Seasoning shed permit + wood blueprints, i noticed that i also needed tools but had no idea where to make them (I have the blueprint). Its been a graft but finally there.
In the original post I did state I had a blueprint :)
Oh damn really? Thanks for the heads up, I have 2 indias, i'll be sure to get some more aha!
I missed that part in my eagerness to help ;)
To clarify too, I am rather new, only 150 hours played, as of this writing and trying to figure out the more advanced aspects of the game. The information is very Cryptic a bit for this game.
Like for instance you said, you have the blueprint but did not specify how and where you got it, other than it has been graft.
This is the only aspect that I find the game lack in, as all other aspects are really well made and I like it.
