Which ship.
How many cannons.
Add another 500 rounds and 1500 powder for every rating after that.
Example 6th rate get 1000 rounds and 3000 powder to last a big battle or maybe two.
Bring more powder if you can afford it!
One 4pd cannon = 4 gunpowder + 1 ball + 2 Crew
One 6pd cannon = 5 gunpowder + 1 ball + 3 Crew
etc...
Long Guns:
One 4pd cannon = 5 gunpowder + 1 ball + 3 Crew
Each type of gun (Medium, Long Gun, Carronades, Mortar) require different amounts of ammo to operate.
So if you have a ship with 40 medium cannon and they are all 4pd cannons, you need 160 gunpowder, 40 balls and 80 crew to fire every cannon 1 time.
To the left of the cannon slots for equiping your cannons there is a number, that is amount of gunpowder you need to fire every gun once, multiply that by 30 or 40 to give how much gunpowder you need.
