Yeah, but you know, a little practising does help before facing your enemy. To miss a ship several times, just to adapt your aim, can cause your ship to sink.
Example of ranges I use a lot, at 100 yards Deck, 250 half main mast, over 300 top mast and at 500 top gallant.
At 600 yards and over you can start using the name label as reference.
No real REAL real need for any modern range sights.
To be fair we already have this thanks to the radar in the corner of the game. It's easy to rangefind using this.
At the range where minimap comes to action you shouold be able to shoot with your eyes closed . Let's not witch hunt here.
Let's not ignorantly spout nonsense either shall we? Carronades don't stand a chance of hitting anything outside of the radar, and for medium and longs you still have the bigger minimap overview of the battle.
You still don't need the minimap to aim. If you're honsetly taking your range using a minimap, you're seriously terrible at this game.
I snipe masts with 32p carros at this range. Try to go against me with your "radar rangefinder" and I'm going to explode your ass :)
As for bigger map - it is scale able and has no range taking tools. Good luck.
Anything else you think is unnatural advantage? Existence of UI maybe? The fact that people are better than you? Because seriously, if you are getting salty about people using radar to find range... it's sad, mate. You should be putting two broadsides into their ass in the time it takes to actually aim using that "trick"...
You also have masts. You can count the distance in masts.
Or you can use dispersion markers of 100m and 250m. If you want to. But hey. Mast counting is good too :D
Learn to aim. That's it.
Everytime when I get new cannons on the ship, they shoot differently and mostly I misses the target and have to flee.
