What to do If you have some problems with connection to server
Please check that router/software is not blocking ports 7770, 8089, 5672, 5222, 8080, 21020-21036, 7401-7600 for the game, also turn off all programs which use internet heavily (like torrent programs, netflix clients), disable antivirus, turn off k9 web protection filter or similar to that filters, also, you can try to put your router into DMZ mode

If this won't help, please send report through Steam Launch option "Report Connection Test" and post report name here (it will look like NAS-XXXX)

P.S.: You do not need to turn completly off your firewall and antivirus and other programs like that, if the issue is about them, you then need to make settings that allow you to play NA, how to change settings is usually desribed in program's help sections.

Also please check this information that might be useful for players from Australia, thanks to Captain RogueAgent:

Hey steve, i have a friend on iprimus and he has the mp264 modem, same as what Dodo supplied me for my fttp. If thats the same as your modem then to fix the problem i went to Security>Advanced Filtering> There were 4 Input Rule Sets listed 3 of which included port 8080 in their list. Turning these off fixed my problems.

From what I've been told, those management ports are for isp/nbnco tech support to log into the router to help troubleshoot. shouldnt need to dmz your pc or anything like that anymore. The problem was that anything NOT coming from those two places was getting dumped by the modem. good luck and happy sailing. hit me up in the game sometime :)

Is it important to have TCP and UDP open or just TCP?
Both
steve 16 JUL 2017 a las 14:36
Efforts so far:
Temporarily turn off Nortons, Malwarebytes and put computer in DMZ zone.
Port forwarding 8080 both TCP and UPD to port 80.
Exclude protection from Nortons by the three IP addresses for your servers for port 8080 according to the IP addresses.
I can't think of any more options.

I don't know what else to do other than post here. I have been unable to battle for a week now, every time i enter combat my ship is uncontrollable and eventually "battle ended! (timeout)" shows up (but my ship ends up nearly sinking every time anyway). Client has full access through antivirus and it doesn't do anything. I have no issues in OW, and my chat continues operating like normal the entire time the battle connection is frozen.

Considering combat is pretty much the only reason i play, being unable to for almost a week is not a great feeling.

Connection Test: NAS-731657

Captain, please send a fresh F11 report from the game once you experience that issue

Well, spent about a week and a half doing everthing possible to get this game to connect to a server. Actually it does connect but will not enter a player character. Port 8080 seems to be a great issue and after leaving my computer open to attack on a couple of occasions I had to clean it up and redo my network. I think this game is going to have to come a bit closer to a players network requirements to become viable. I'll wait till a patch comes through that is a bit more user friendly.

Greetings,

I am still unable to enter combat successfully, are there any updates from the reports I submitted?

Thank you,

Arrowdemon

Captain, we are still looking into this issue (there could be issues with the character that caused that problem but it didn't help in your case). Meanwhile please in case you have an option, could you try to check the game via another source of internet like mobile internet and also turn off antivirus/firewall to exclude connection issue with blocked ports on your side?
steve 27 JUL 2017 a las 15:29
Is there any plan in the near future to make this game more accessible to a wider section of users, trying to access this game? Obviously port 8080 is an issue for many of us and to put our computers in a ridiculously dangerous position, connecting to the internet is not a logical option.

You have to open it only for Naval Action application

Greetings Ink,

An attempt with my mobile hotspot allowed for combat, leading to the conclusion something is wrong with the router I use(It had worked for naval action a long time before suddenly not). I do not immediately know why it is not working, as all ports for naval action are properly allowed. This puts the issue on my end, thanks for all the support.

Well my computer isn't an issue. I connected to the hotspot on my phone and gained for the first time access to the game and indeed a battle.
