Wheres my crew
So i have noticed that in my 1st rates i am missing crew. My ship card for my Victory says 1115 crew, and in battle the crew number is 1115. However, there are only 887 crew assigned to the different sections(673 on guns, 214 on sails and nothing on the others).
Please can we have this fixed as it means we are going into battles under crewed.

I have noticed that to. But put it to that devs not was able to get it to work with crew bonus.

But crew are minning if you do the count. Naybe they will say its officers and they don't work.

If you use the book 'marines 15' you always have 15% less crew available. The 15% is not displayed and can only be seen when boarding. But even if you use the book you would have about 950 crew. Maybe you have 'marines 5' as well? Then you have about 890 crew available. That would be my only idea ;)

Cheers, think that must be it. No idea why having marines on reduces your crew......very 'realistic'......

Bumping this since I didn't want to make a new thread while one already technically exists. The Devs really need to fix this issue. It makes no sense that marines are incapable of performing any crew duties and just stand around doing nothing for the majority of an engagement. Boarding combat at higher ranks is an absolute slog without any marines but presently I am in OP's boat.

Missing over 100 crew members to allocate making my big ship vastly under-perform. I have to choose between moving my rigging or loading my cannons. I cannot have both as some cannons just go unloaded entirely without more crew added to gunnery.

The Marines don't want their nice officer uniform dirty. I think they're drinking below deck until the close combat starts. It's really stupidly done in the game, I agree with you.

It is very realistic. A ship can only carry a given number of bodies, so any that are marines aren't available to man the guns or operate the sails.

It is realistic, but tell me where the land battle takes place? An AI vessel can instantly hook yours and board you, well over the max speed allowed for a player to do so.

Forcing the player to forfeit sailors for marines is just a one way realism here. Its just another lazy, blatant "wrong doing" by this developer. If one were to copy/paste this opinion on the official NA Discord, he/she would get a permanent ban for doing so. And thats a fact.
