Is there singleplayer?
Are there any opportunities to play this game as a single player? I don't like multiplayer at all, but looking for good naval game.

you should check out Tempest, its not Legit like this one, but its slightly the same.... and has Single player and multiplayer, but the Multiplayer part is being worked on, so you will only have Single player... but give it a shot, if you don't like it you can always get a refund back just don't play over 2 hours.
Thank you! Tempest looks very interesting, I completely missed it before.

Actually, the PvE server is "sort of single player". There, you don't have to always be fighting other players. And most (all?) "mission orders" fights are with NPC's. And you can do trading and crafting.

But things do change between sessions, so you can't just start where you left off.

If you really can't stand MMOs, even PvE, then check out X-Rebirth. If, that is, you can do ships that sail the vacuum of space... 8-)

I'm not that much into space exploration. I love romantics of sailing across High Seas and old-school navy.

Go on the PvE server then, I think you will like it. But avoid the PvP servers, at least until later.

I just sailed to the Bahama islands off of Florida. The islands appeared slowly out of the early morning mist, on one side and then the other. I looked at the compass and the map, trying to decide which way to turn to find my port destination...

Look up some of the videos on YouTube, they are great and you can see what the battles are like.

8-)

Not sure why yould would complain about an mmorpg being an mmorpg instead of a single player game? sid miers pirates, tempest, etc are geared for the single player side of things.

Also single player of this era - total war napolean and empire, sid miers colonization, im sure paradox has something this era too as well as anno 1404. (i know these are strategy but still)

Fact of the matter is there are far more single player age of sales era games then multiplayer. only big ones i know of are this, pirates of the burning sea, uncharted waters...

I played all those single player.

And I don't like mmo because I have way too much competition in real life, and want just to relax in virtual workds, without being pushed to improve myself there. I want calm, relaxing gameplay, where I decide what should be done, which enemy to fight, where to save and load, and so on.
I play it 95%+ single player, its quite possible as long as you accept its an online game. I do missions solo, attack enemy nation ships solo, and then set up contracts to sell to the other players, all on the PvE server. Its not a save-load type of game but the ship battles are so good that its worth a try. Having said that its still alpha and there is loads of fleshing out still to do.

It's a MMORPG. So like any other MMO you can play solo but you'll be around with other players 24/24

You can have all this by playing on PvE and turning off chat. Other players will affect the trade and ship availability, but simply think of them as advanced AI (or not so advanced in some cases).

Nope its an MMO.. kind of like asking if world of warcraft is single player..

As mentioned above the PVE server might be the closest you get to a single player version but that kind of goes against what an mmo is about.

No but a PVE only server

Captain, you can play on PVE server with closed chat, kinda Singleplayer experience (you can not be attacked by a Player on PVE server), just requires internet connection and without Save/Load opportunity (Iron Will Mode)

Meh, I had the hope there is a real single player part... :( Going to look for another game. This game looks really promising but I don't like MMOs and being forced to play on a remote server.
