" sea dogs is relastic naval simulation " ahahahha .... ma man sea dogs is arcade game as hell ... realistic naval simulation ... my god ! what a joke...
guess depends on what you consider releastic, sea dogs takes into weather, wind driection, time to raise lower sails, time it take crew to load cannons based on skill of crew and that is stationed to go with it there no fast travel in the game. how far you can see on map is based on how tall ships crow nest is on ship. the current of the ocean can move the ship. size of ship can vary depth of ship is in water is varied based on height of the water volume that is dispperesed in ship.. the ports have econmic system based on trade coming in and out, more pirate activey labor slaves so forth better or worse the trade is. it has releastic damage model based on where you hit ships so if you put hole into water line it start take in water there armor system to game so armor can deflect shoots then there fact that if I am captured i can be sold as slave or killed game over start over.
there also reputation system in the game makes for all factions plus for each town and port and for the population that lives in those towns and ports makes it easier or harder to hire a crew.
what happens in naval action if you lose you battle and your ship do you die do you get sold off as a slave, that be bases of realisum or do you just end up getting every thing handed back to you and a free ship, does you reputation effect game play does it make it easier or harder to hire from towns and ports or to do trade, in naval action.
if i raid a port and take part of population as slaves to auction off in diff port does that effect your reputation in both ports along with factions you dealing it does in sea dogs.
