Leopard or Rattvisan. Which one better to you and why?

Is the Leopard worthy buying if you already have the Rattvisan?

Worth? For me yes. The Rättvisan is clearly better but the Leopard gives a good challenge to the players. Even against the Trinco it is a hard challenge. If you have unlocked the 5 book-slots
the ship is very good to sail. Not to mention the ship looks great :)
You can also make a good fleet with the Rättvisan if your rank is right. Or just use it as money maker or resources 1 per day.

If you get a leopard with hull bonus 5 i've seen her stand up to multiple broadsides from trincs and only losing 1/4 of hull. At the slightest angle most rounds will bounce off.

leopard is prettier but the ratt is more flexible in terms of performance. more guns, more crew. otherwise their stats are essentially the same (armor/speed). except the leopard has some insane mast strenght to troll the mast snipers.

Leopard is great at taking on 3rd rates and above, it can fit 42 and 32 pound carronades so it is nasty at stern raking bigger ships. It can tackle L'Ocean's and other 1st rates extremely well. She also has the highest (I'm pretty sure) mast strength of all the 4th rates which is extremely valuable when taking on large rated ships.

The issue is when you are fighting other 4th rates, the Leopard kind of sucks at that and it doesn't have much crew so it can easily be boarded by Agamemnon and other high crew 4th rates.


Rattvisan cannot hold carronades but it has one of the biggest broadsides for the 4th rates, only beaten by the Agamemnon and the Ingermanland (Ingermanland can mound 32 pounders).

It has a high crew count making boarding easy for itself and it has decent armour and structure health points. She is more like a small line ship, similar to Agamemnon.

Both ships have roughly the same speed though I find Leopard turns better.


If you were only going to get one of these ships, personally I'd recommend the Rattvisan, it is good for PvP and PvE. The Leopard is a fun ship it just can't be as versatile as the Rattvisan is.
