So gonna need all new combos with the new weight changes.
My staple combos with Wolf don't work on half the cast anymore as they don't bound high enough anymore. In fact only Akira bounds high enough here to hoping people don't remember to break ground throws.

Doesn't feel right guess I'll see.

Good, weight is a dumb mechanic.

Attacking is a dumb mechanic as well. Its just to rewarding.

Well they changed moves around and getting 2 bounds is really wonky. By simplifying the weight system the seem to have made it harder to land stuff reliably. Im sure Ill find something new its just muscle memory getting me mixed up right now.

It's stupid to lock someone into a long ass combo which they can't get out of. That's never been much of a thing in VF, and I don't want to see it introduced here.

Ok, I wouldn't call it stupid but maybe more not your taste.

Anyway it doesn't have much to do with the original topic which I am quickly learning to be that they just straight up nerfed the heck out of some characters damage with the weight change.

I agree weight was a silly mechanic in practice (kinda cool on paper though) and I hope that 6 really gets away from it but at cursory glance it seems that it wasn't balanced across the board very well. Light and mediums got it good and heavys gonna have to work for it now.

It's related in the sense that, if characters bouce off the ground more easily (less weight across the board), it makes it easier to juggle them.

I like the weight system because it makes characters more unique, and - dare I say it - overall more realistic. A sumo wrestler falling (and so on) like a teenage girl is silly. Or a teenage girl punching/kicking a sumo causing him to stagger. If it ever gets that far, VF will have lost a good chunk of its identity.

Don't throw out the baby with the bath water is all I'm saying.

I usually practice on Jacky, check on Eileen, check on Wolf, if it hits I ASSUME it's gonna hit the rest of the cast but WHO knows
Cause if you wanna see something Silly
Pick Eileen, Fight Jacky (This ONLY works on him)
Backturn, Up K, K+G, K, K, K, K, K, Down K.

So I wouldn't practice individual combos, that would take so damn long but then again you might find something worth remembering

Weight is a great mechanic because it prevents noobs just learning one combo and spamming it out against every character. It forced them to learn the game mechanics properly earlier, and if they want to just rely on one combo, Tekken-scrub style, they at least had to learn it differently for every opponent.

This game was way ahead of it's time, and the developers were top of their game in terms of games design.

Throwing is a dumb mechanic, it's too good at stopping me from blocking.

You know Tekken has Female and Big Body specific combos, right??

It's not about good and bad. It's about keeping the back and forth going. Throwing does exactly that against blocking. Preventing the enemy from stalling the flow. It's like rock, paper, scissors.

But it's not fun having to just sit there and watch the opponent's combo play out. Just like super moves in other games.

I think the game should be distilled down to its purest a blurry Jpeg on screen for 45 seconds and then a winner is called. The most fundy of fundies.
