[Quest Mode] If not, Why ?

With all of the nice updates and improvements listed...
I am noticing there is no mention of "Quest Mode"
This game has been stuck on the PlayStation for ages
And there should be plenty of player data
To copy over to create a "Quest Mode" for the PC-Release.
If anyone does any not want this mode, explain why.

I'd rather them put as many of their resources as allowed into creating a new vf. adding more things into the like 5th release of vf5 will take away from that, even if slightly. i hope the balance update is a one-time special occasion for this reason as well.

If I recall correctly, the only version of VF5 with Quest Mode was the "first release" (on console). New versions of the game just scrapped the function and swapped for better Online modes. Dunno what would take for re-implement a full flagged singleplayer campaign, but it's not that simple as "copy over".

If VF6 is happening i wouldn't mind waiting for Virtua Quest to return there.

If VF6 doesn't have quest mode, then Sega hasn't been paying attention to Tekken and SF6 at all. Barebones fighters aren't acceptable anymore.

The closest we got to a Virtua Fighter Quest Mode was Shenmue. Not unless you count Virtua Quest.

The only reason the Ultimate Showdown exist is because Sony paid for the development, the resources were very strict.

Looking back, yes I recall playing the "Quest Mode" on the Xbox-360.
Dumped so many hours into it trying to win all of the tournaments.
I hope this feature returns as it is a great way to get a feel of the game.

Because it's too expensive to dev'.
Because VF is a niche and doesn't sell.

I was already impossible 10 years ago (can't remember the exact date) for VF5 FS (which was an attempt to save/not let die the series), i'm not surprised it's not here for this remake/port/whatever BS marketing they called it.

People are already whining about dlc, but this game HAS TO sell dlc to make profits.
Fighting games are a niche, big names like street fighter and mortal kombat don't have to sell dlc (but they do because milking fanboys is good), so a niche game in a niche genre with only a handful of fans ... yeah, it has to sell a lot of dlc to not go bankrupt.

But yeah, Quest mode is still the best solo mod ever created in a fighting game, it really helped me maining Goh back in the days.

I see no reason it "has to sell DLC". The development costs of a port are not even a fraction of the development costs of a full game, so the normal rules do not apply here.

However, I'd love to see Quest mode return, or some kind of single player content. I think the game will struggle to maintain a larger fanbase if it doesn't have something else other than Arcade mode.

Because while the Quest Mode featured AI of real players similar to VF4, it was mainly about unlocking items that are now DLC.

So unless they create new items, or rather add more items from VF5 FS, then most probably wouldn't play it.

We may have to wait until the new Virtua Fighter to play this mode again.

I don't understand, VF5 Vanilla had Quest Mode, why can't they just toss it into this version too? Genuinely really like Quest Mode as it reminds me of Dojo Mode from T5DR on PSP. More fighting games could use this simple style of offline mode, it's just nice to chill and play around with. Doesn't seem like it takes much effort to make, either.

Because like previously said, the main incentive to play it was for unlocking items that are now DLC.

Although if this includes all DLC so far, then I guess they could make it unlockable again if they did add Quest mode.

Yeah, I think this version does come with all of the previous DLC.
Adding "Quest Mode" to unlock everything would be a nice touch !

quest mode is the reason i bought this. may have to refund and wait and see if its added to VF6.
i remember playing the og game and ranking up. loved it.
