is it safe to play now?

as the title says, is it safe to play now? by "play" i mean can i boot up zombies and play with friends online in a private lobby or would we need a client or patch to play without risk.

I was under the impression that even in private matches you aren't safe but I could absolutely be wrong. I'm hearing so much about this I have no idea what's true and what isnt so I would say no matter what, be safe about it!

Edit: in light of tweets by momo5502 and shiversoftdev on the 2nd of July, 2023, you’re only safe online from future RCE exploits after the March update if you’re using the t7patch while having a network password set and only sharing the password with trusted people.

Although, there are some things that have changed since the video’s release, like mod menus getting updated to work after the update, and the BOIII client no longer releasing. However, that doesn’t take away the fact that the (edit: 4 known) RCE exploits have been patched.

Main point, (edit: 4 known) RCE exploits have been patched, therefore your PC won’t get hacked through them. However, if you play online, you’re still prone to getting your stats modified, getting crashed, getting booted offline, getting your IP leaked, and getting DDoSed.
