Copying my response to a similar question:
Game seems to be having a boom in users either from the Steam sale or from BO3 clients being promoted by YouTubers, though the Steam sale's likely what's doing it.
This was coming from a tweet momo shared a few hours ago that discusses his involvement with BOIII Clones. According to his tweet, he stated there are 5 critical security vulnerabilities he's aware of currently that are unpatched everywhere.
I tried to share the tweet, but I'm rate limited because of how broken Twitter is at the moment, so the link might not work.
Looking through the replies, he states that at least 2 of the 5 are RCE vulnerabilities:
I stand corrected then. I was under the impression that all 5 of them were RCEs before I was able to read that one. Regardless, as long as those RCEs are unpatched, I wouldn't consider this game to be safe, there's probably more exploits in the game that haven't been discovered yet as well.
momo has responded to these comments with:
So, I take it as this is where we’re at. t7patch with network password is the go-to approach, meaning that public matchmaking is not safe if these vulnerabilities start getting exploited.

I would play zombies with friends and solo for the most part.
