I feel as if with the already relatively small playerbase the PC version offers, that Battle Royale will dillude the traffic from Multiplayer.
In the end though, I really don't know if this will be a big problem for the game or not, but it is something that has crossed my mind a few times; hopefully a needless worry.
In the opposite effect, I'm also glad to hear that it will be releasing on Battlenet.
Because I believe that competition with Steam is a goal worth persuing & will in return benefit the consumer.
I do hope however that with this change; the game will also in return see more sales and price cuts.
Because I believe for the most part that the Call of Duty games & it's DLC have been ridiculously overpriced as time goes on.
I'm also dissappointed to hear that they will not be doing a Traditional Single Player Campaign because I enjoyed them, but I suppose im in the minority - So I understand the decision, but I feel as if it would've added more value to the game to include.
The Zombies mode seems rather interesting, in a lot of ways I'm glad to hear all the changes they are making but I remain skeptical on how they will actually affect the game mode; we'll just have to wait n' see I suppose.
I'm also very skeptical about Black Out being good and see the potiential of this game being more Microtransaction heavy than all previous CoD games. Hopefully they prove me wrong but I do feel a bad vibe in terms of Business decisions.
Personally I think the game has taken a lot of good steps forward, at least from what we've heard, but I still remain skeptical if this will hold up & translate well when the game is out. Hopefully with the partnership with Blizzard, I won't have to worry as much, but I know how the Gaming Industry works at this point & because of that I always remain doubtful of companies decisions .
To answer your question however I do think, with a good anti cheat system, dedicated support for PC players, a solid game with loads of content, and a game that continues to grab and hold player interest; it will transalte into a PC sales increase.
But given Call of duty's downward trend, I wouldn't get hopes up too high...but there is some promise from this one; so maybe there is something to look out for in the future.
But, the bar...May already be set too high, and this hype train might all be for nothing as it usually is. End Result: "Train go boom."
Why we can't keep all of our games in one fcking place =(
WW2 runs on medium beter than BO3 on lowest.
WW2 has newer engine, created during AW.
BO3 is still using the same engine since first cods.
I don't get big fps drops, but the fps self are bad.
Therefor, the playerbase in MP & ZM DLC maps should be much better as it is right now.
So even if there will be half as much copies sold as of BO3, those lobbies will be more enjoyable
Stop listening to PR words.
And there will be even more cheaters. Players will be more likely to cheat, due to having nothing to lose - PC CoD players are all using steam for years
Blizzard fans don't care about BO4, for them it's just a new advertisement in battle.net client.
What bothers me, why you dudes are still here, go to relevant BO4 forum.
Also you dudes don't know crap about engines. You gotta be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane to say that BO3 runs on Quake engine. In fact AW has more leftovers from Q3 engine than BO3, which at this point don't even use anything from IdTech engine.
The whole point is that Activision thinks that players who won't buy BO4 because it isn't on steam worth less than Valve's cut. They are aiming for hardcore call of duty PC fans who are buying any game once a year, and those are fairly small number. They just moved on, CoD isn't as big now so they treat it like niche title. It has nothing to do with competition.
