GTX 1080, i7-6700k @ 4.6GHz, 16GB RAM DDR4 3000MHz. 1440p @144hz Monitor.
I would say:
1440p
Render 120%
110 FoV (Because maxing the slider is actually ♥♥♥♥, and makes people to small.)
Textures Quality, Filterings, Mesh. All high. (If you want Extra textures....But I would say high since you can't really tell High and Extra apart.)
Everything else off. Because performance drain. And hinders your ability to see things.
But make Anti-aliasing SMAA T2x (No filmic.) Or the one before it.
Because you've already got res, so it's not really needed as much.
But I find with higher AA things sorta blend a little to much, so I don't crank it all the way up.
That and it does lower performance a bit....
Thanks, I'll give it try tomorrow when the daily is up.
It makes less "Jaggies"......But I've noticed with higher AA it sort of blurs to other things obstructing my view. So with higher render, it wouldn't do that because it's actually making it output the higher res, and downscaling it.
And making it not blur at the edges.
Only low, and I've noticed that shadows low and medium look quite similar, if you want nicer shadows. Then so be it, but I would say lower is better, you only need to see the shadow, doesn't really matter what quality. Because you're not really going to look at it for long are you?
Low shadows really suck, they are so... low quality. At least medium is recommended so your eyes won't burn out.
What drops your FPS? AA or Render res?
Because lowering your AA and uping your render will give you better FPS. And look better, you know that right?
And, as for shadows, I find low shadows to be just fine. They do their job, show me when someone is running round a corner. That's all they're used for. Not to look beautiful. (I mean, if you want to game to look pretty, your choice, but we're talking about performance here.)
He has the power to push medium shadows with next to no performance hit, if he wants to he can, but he wanted to see people better too. And I find it easier to see people with lower shadows.
The most important thing is to disable AO and AA.
I'd rather keep AA on high. I just don't like the way the game looks with all those jagged edges. I want want to remove or minimalize foilage and partical effects.
by enabling AA you loose fps and increase input lag so it s not really good for comp play...
