Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V

For users experiencing a crash at launch with Street Fighter V
Rise up, World Warriors!

Issues with launching Street Fighter V through Steam may be tied to a Windows anti-virus and security feature called Data Execution Prevention, or DEP. DEP may be flagging the application as a false-positive and causing it to shut down. Users can follow these steps[windows.microsoft.com] as a hotfix:

  1. Open System by clicking the Start button, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.
  2. Click Advanced system settings. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Under Performance, click Settings.
  4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
  5. To turn off DEP for an individual program, select the check box next to the programs that you want to turn off DEP for. In this case:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV\Binaries\Win64\StreetFighterV.exe

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV.exe

    And then click OK.

If the program is not in the list, click Add. Browse to the Program Files folder, find the executable file for the program (it will have an .exe file name extension), and then click Open.
  6. Click OK, click OK in the System Properties dialog box if it appears, and then click OK again. You might need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

If you receive a “You Can Not Set DEP Attributes On 64-bit Executables” error when adding the 64-bit exe, try the following steps:

  1. Press ‘Windows Key + R’ (or click ‘Start’ --> ‘Run’) and type sysdm.cpl in the ‘Run’ dialog box. Click OK to open ‘System Properties’.
  2. In the ‘System Properties’ window, switch to the ‘Advanced’ tab and click ‘Settings’ under ‘Performance’.
  3. In the ‘Performance Options’ window, switch to the ‘Data Execution Prevention’ tab. Choose ‘Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select’. Click ‘Add’.
  4. The file browser dialog will open, where you need to change the 'Look in' folder and set it to SysWOW64. Now type the 'File name' as dllhost.exe and click ‘Open’. By doing this, you will be adding C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dllhost.exe (assuming C: is your system root drive) into the exception list.

direct x runtime error..... I follow the windows defender exclusions path, but isnt working... PLEASE CAPCOM GIVE US ANSWERS
wtf about 64 bit users you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ devs give me my 60 back
Doesn't work for 64 bit installs. Which is nearly any Gaming PC. Also the links don't even work to see more information on DEP, they lead to generic windows support page on win 10.
Why my game cashes every 15 mins after 1.06 update? no error message and this problem didnt exist before version 1.06
I cannot launch the game from steam. If I run it as admin, I get a splash screen, then the window comes up and the game immediately crashes. I've added the game to my Windows Defender Exclusion list. I've tried turning off Windows Defender. I have no other anti virus running.

I've attempted this DEP fix, but it doesn't care since I don't have the game stored on my C drive. Is there a way to make it recognize another volume other than C since I have it on my F drive?

Is Capcom working on a patch to get the program running without having to do all this DEP nonsense?

Is the game on your primary drive?
ust purchased because of the sale and installed. The game won't load even after using the ridiculous workarounds needed. Seriously considering getting a refund. I'm a huge SF nut. My friends and I even built an original Japanese SFA3 arcade machine. Capcom what have you done? Get your head our of your ♥♥♥ and provide a working game. I have an I7-4790K 4GHz, 16gb ram, Win7 SP1, and an Nvidia GTX970 there should be no problem here. I'm using Trend Micro Maximum Security for AV.
