For users experiencing a crash at launch with Street Fighter V
Rise up, World Warriors!

Issues with launching Street Fighter V through Steam may be tied to a Windows anti-virus and security feature called Data Execution Prevention, or DEP. DEP may be flagging the application as a false-positive and causing it to shut down. Users can follow these steps[windows.microsoft.com] as a hotfix:

  1. Open System by clicking the Start button, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.
  2. Click Advanced system settings. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Under Performance, click Settings.
  4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
  5. To turn off DEP for an individual program, select the check box next to the programs that you want to turn off DEP for. In this case:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV\Binaries\Win64\StreetFighterV.exe

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV.exe

    And then click OK.

If the program is not in the list, click Add. Browse to the Program Files folder, find the executable file for the program (it will have an .exe file name extension), and then click Open.
  6. Click OK, click OK in the System Properties dialog box if it appears, and then click OK again. You might need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

If you receive a “You Can Not Set DEP Attributes On 64-bit Executables” error when adding the 64-bit exe, try the following steps:

  1. Press ‘Windows Key + R’ (or click ‘Start’ --> ‘Run’) and type sysdm.cpl in the ‘Run’ dialog box. Click OK to open ‘System Properties’.
  2. In the ‘System Properties’ window, switch to the ‘Advanced’ tab and click ‘Settings’ under ‘Performance’.
  3. In the ‘Performance Options’ window, switch to the ‘Data Execution Prevention’ tab. Choose ‘Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select’. Click ‘Add’.
  4. The file browser dialog will open, where you need to change the 'Look in' folder and set it to SysWOW64. Now type the 'File name' as dllhost.exe and click ‘Open’. By doing this, you will be adding C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dllhost.exe (assuming C: is your system root drive) into the exception list.

Thank you
i cant do this i get an error saying: "You can not set DEP attributes no 64-bit executables." What could i do to try removing this error message. This is my last option for any solution to make this game even run.
could be added that my processor supports hardwarebased dep. and that is why i cant add any 64bit executables to the exeptions list of the DEP. but i still want to play this game and i need help to do so

I'm in the same boat. I hate to say it but this type of error should never get through testing. I'm sure it will never be fixed.

I have de same problem.
for me it fixed itself and i am now able to start the game 100% success, dont know what was the problem but i in fact did not manage to exlude it form the DEP. i just shut the computer down and went to bed then the next day its just seemed to work when i tryed and pressed play. fix whatever updates needed and restart the computer would be what i would first try if that doesnt work then idk

It began today. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

This is quite a common issue on win10 I think?! If you use sleep a bit on the computer it will start to refuse games and app start, so a full restart/power off is needed. But in this case nothing seems to affect it, looked for updates at all fronts and used taskman to try to see what happens when executing the game.
1 quick screen flicker and steam resumes into state as if the game was quit....
Quite strange act.. Let's hope friday when char release it's back to normal..

Seems like my Avg antivirus suddenly think Street Fighter V is the big bad wolf out of the blue... Never been like this before but now it's like this, must be latest Avg update or game update that's triggered it for my part!

The problem was solved alone. I have been playing normally.

Same problem. And how is this even supposed to fix it? The game's executable won't be affected by DEP by default, so how is turning on global DEP then adding the game to the exclusion list any better? Fix this now.
